While he travelled the state running for Senate last year, Ted Cruz found time to make $1 million representing deeply immoral clients of his former law firm. As the Dallas Morning News explains in their (pay-walled) investigate report, among his final clients were a businessman who pleaded guilty to bribery, a drug manufacturer that fired an employee who refused to break the law, and a company that illegally copied anothers tire design. Cruz lost all of those cases.
The businessman was Robert Mericle, who bribed two judges to give minors harsher sentences in the infamous kids for cash system. Why? To make money for his private juvenile detention center. Cruz lost the case, but he took home hundreds of thousands of Mericles money.
Two days after the arguments, Cruz appeared in his first primary debate with Dewhurst. The court had Mericle pay $2.15 million to fund local childrens health and welfare programs, and he faces up to three years in prison. His lawyer is now arguably the most prominent Republican in America. ...

I really don't understand WHY they still support him as much as they do, whilst hating Trump with a white hot passion.
"... A criticism of Sen. Cruz has been that he has been more focused on the White House than serving the people of Texas, said Jenifer Sarver, a Texas-based consultant and former chief of staff to Karen Hughes, who served as counselor to President George W. Bush. His decision to announce a presidential bid two years into his term and make the announcement outside of Texas serves to amplify that impression for many. Then there was that trade bill Cruz tried to play dumb and smarter than the rest of US with deceptive voting.
What happened is the competing wings of the GOPe got Trumped, and exposed the GOPe as Obama allies.
the Denver Broncos signed Johnny Manziel to a one year contract for $9,000,000.
Unlike Obama, Cruz had a real job. He has skills. Go Trump.
**”Ted Cruzs law firm where he was a partner with Morgan Lewis & Bockius gave 100s of thousands of $$ to Obama, Hillary, and the DNC and along with campaign shady practices said in this article.

whoa there Nellie. say who? now that’s interesting
bumping for later
thanks for posting that.
It was reading about that case, Dretke vs Haley, that made me first sit back and go, what is with this guy? In hindsight it’s almost like he intentionally took it to the Supremes for political points in the future. On a calculation that an ‘average’ voter wouldn’t dig into his individual Supremes cases and accept he was a Supremes ‘winner’ at face value.

Kind of like the Cruz supporters saying (of Trump), You mean he made donations to both sides like big business men do? Well, that's that then...."
Because we know that standards is standards....
Sorry, Mr. Crooze, I already sacrificed more than I should have, and all I have to show for it is a huge pile of junk mail, a constant barrage of span phone calls begging me for more, and the sick feeling that once again I was taken in by a charlatan politician.
AMEN
Thanks for confirming Cruz has no moral compass and will say and do whatever it takes to get a win for his clients. By the way who exactly are his clients now - since obviously its not the American people who are paying him?
Uh No he lost most case, hes actually a sub-par lawyer not even hitting the 50 percent mark for average skills. As far as his USSC cases those were whats known as easy cases where the law was pretty clear.
Bottom line tho is he shows he will say and do anything for money - even doing a John Robert’s/Paul Ryan impression of a conservative to hitch his wagon to the Tea Party.
“... the frequency with which Cruz represented sleaze bags...”
There’s the old saying, “It takes one to know one” and Cruz definitely fits the bill. Perhaps a “President Trump” will promote a new law that prohibits bottom feeding scum lawyers (meaning all of them) from excessive charges such as the ones mentioned in the article.
Thanks for posting!
