I guess the manager
A: Had a non functioning olfactory sense, or do they not add odorant to gas in Coon Rapids.
B: Not surprised that a Fire Department Official could determine there was a gas leak without conducting any testing.
C: was the result of a breeding experiment between generations of first cousins.

“Prison time for the hoaxster.”
What crime would you charge and convict them with?
To: Timpanagos1
Wire fraud would do for a start.
Toss in malicious mischief for kicks.

The pranksters in the California incident managed to convince the manager to use his own car to ram into the drive through speaker box and destroy it.
Hahahahhah, holy flipping smokes. OY, tell me Amerrica isn’t getting dumber.

I give this an 8 on the honking hoot scale.

I was once in a building that had a gas leak. I had never smelled it before, and didn’t realize what it was. I thought someone was heating something weird in the microwave.
Finally someone smarter than I realized what he was smelling and got us all out.

Not everybody is aware that gas smells...Yeah, like I said. Ignorant and stupid. Now who gets to young adulthood and doesn't know what gas smells like?

Double meat cheese whoppers are REALLY sinfully delicious. I also like Big Macs made with quarter pounder meat and extra sauce. Yum! This also explains why my adorable figure has become a mite too adorable.

How would the fire department know there was a gas leak in the building unless they were on the scene? This Battalion Chief Bubba, is this the Manager? OK, we've automatically detected a gas leak from interior gas alarm sensors. You better smash all the windows before the place blows. We're responding to the scene code 3 now.

You could never make a case for wire fraud nor malicious mischief as they did not destroy any property, nor did they incite a reasonable person to break windows.

This Battalion Chief Bubba, is this the Manager? OK, we've automatically detected a gas leak from interior gas alarm sensors Well if the manager on shift had received no training on the alarms in the building that might work.
But who would install a silent alarm on a gas detector? The point of such alarms is to alert the occupants of mortal danger. I have smoke alarms with CO detectors in my house because I gas heat. They have audible alarms.
But like I said this is a display of total lack of critical thinking.

The call was fraudulent and used wires.
The intent was malicious.
Only a chimpanzee prosecutor could fail to get a conviction.
