Bad Newz For Cruz
A series of brand new trend polls highlight an ongoing discussion/trend. With increased visibility Senator Ted Cruz support decreases.
It would be inaccurate to say Cruz is collapsing, if it were not for multiple polls indicating the same trend line. However, when you have three completely disparate polls, indicating an almost identical retraction, you cannot dismiss the reality.
Fox News and IPSOS Rueters both identify the issue on a national scale, and within the CBS polling of Pennsylvania voters you find the specifics as to why. First, the Fox Trend Poll showing Donald Trump extending his lead over Cruz to 18 points, as Cruz support plummets by 11 points in a month:

You have a blog that “Stumpin For Trump” wrote.
My boys will be mighty next week, when they get to go outside for the first time in four months. :)
Poole? Is that you?
Cruz went bunny boiler round about Utah.
The thing that is “wrong” with Cruz is he is conservative and has actively defended the values of this forum

Where is Ben sasse wrong in this critique of trumps anti conservative positions ?
Bingo. That is what happened to me.
Uh, it's about jobs, stupid.
Cruz can't string 2 sentences together without doing so.
Cruz is just spinning his wheels hoping for a miracle which isn't coming...
Same here...I was all in for Cruz at one point. Now I am all in for Trump and despise Cruz. I don’t trust him one bit!!!
You know, you’re 100% right. I remember all of them vet citizen qualification foe prez posts. What a hypocrite.
Cruz has not really produced anything in his life except ideas, which incidentally can be faked, misrepresented, or presented in such a way as to lay a groundwork for an ambitious political career. Cruz is nothing other than a politician.
Let's talk about what the founders envisioned rather than a bunch of on paper conservative rules. How about spending your entire life actually participating and producing in America, then taking time out of your life to contribute back to it - after you can prove you can 'do the American thing' rather than just be a bureaucrat and administrator with lofty ideas.
The founders intended the former. A break from your life, when you'd already produced a life for yourself in the real world, and took a break from serving yourself to serve the country.
There is zero proof Cruz can do anything, and frankly, his sincerity is deeply, deeply in question in the country, and justifiably so - the evidence mounts that he's actually (rather than on paper) in bed with the very Cartel he criticizes (see what I just said about misrepresenting ideas.)
You are hypnotized by his paper credentials and words, not watching his actions. You are going to recruit a pitcher after reading a guys essay on pitching that was designed to make you think he'd be a good pitcher.
We don't want 'more good politicians'. Cruz is a good politician - but what else is he? Please don't give me Harvard Lawyer or Great Debater. Give me something else. What really has he accomplished? We ask this of HIllary all the time. All she can say is "I have consistently fought for this or that" ... but really, she's a totally ineffective democrat, as noxious as she is. What has Cruz accomplished other than academic credentials and good on paper positions? A publicity stunt? ... even if stunt that was good, that's all it was. It required him to move no one. In fact, it was characterized by a single thing - the very thing that made him look like a hero - he stood alone and in fact, accomplished nothing.
Each backroom deal he makes with the Establishment dimishes whatever power - moral or otherwise - he had - if he even had any in the first place. Kp> Why not give him 8 years to prove who and what he is? He's unproven and there are serious ... deeply serious ... questions.
Colorado Tar-Baby is the correct amswer
There is some truth to that in my case (still voted for him), but I think he’s the guy we need making judicial and administrative appointments. He certainly appears to be an abrasive, egotistical asshole, but then so are all of the remaining options on both sides. Judicial and administrative appointments are areas where Trump’s ignorance of the workings of our system and its history could really come back to bite us. Don’t get me wrong—I’ll vote Trump if he’s the nominee. At the end of the day I’d sooner risk Trump’s potential blunders than Hillary’s certain malice.
Good post!
That could really stick: Colorado Tar Baby Cruz
LOL
Two years ago I was Cruz all the way. It was a slow process in my realization that I don't like Cruz, but I found myself changing the channel whenever he was speaking.
Now, I see Cruz as GOPe but more unlikeable, if that's possible.
Be careful what you wish for. The media had a field day with the Colorado delegate selection process. Why? It appears Cruz and the local GOP followed the rules as they exist.
Could it be they think Trump will be the easier candidate to destroy in the general election?
I don’t have a horse in this race. Both Trump and Cruz are on my acceptable candidates list. My point is that when I find myself aligned with the mainstream media I become very nervous. The media is my primary enemy in America.
I think this is why anyone that's ever had anything to do with Cruz (high school, college, Senate) doesn't like him.
It's taken almost a year for the GOPe to find past acquaintances (non political) of Trump to say something bad about him.
