I scored a first edition copy of Orwell’s `1984’ at Goodwill.
It smells funny though—the store, not the book. Funky.
Salvation Army stores have great stuff at cheaper prices and you’re actually supporting worthy people rather than the CEO.

However, I did recently snag a $700 Black Rivet leather jacket at Gwill for $20, so there’s that.
I buy 99% of my clothes at Goodwill. I’ve also found some brand new never used items with tags still on (not all were clothing) and given them for presents. :-)
I have a problem with a non-profit that takes 80 cents on the dollar in donations they get to fund “admin” roles.
