The plantation where a quasi famous movie was filmed....a period piece...a prequel.....to a very famous 19th century novel
I almost bought the place in 1987
On the north coast hey there is a pork pit made of very unusual leftover technology of the 20Th century
Name it
An elevated military fort?
You can google that one.
1978 big event?
I love the place...dangerous....yeah
Tourist spot folks are a nuisance....yes

The Jamaica Observer-
Jamaica had about 45 slayings per 100,000 people in 2015, keeping it ranked among the most violent countries in the world. In recent years, the UN listed the island as having the worlds sixth-worst homicide rate. The World Bank ranked Jamaica in the top five in 2013.
By comparison, Chicago, which has roughly the same population as Jamaica at 2.7 million, had 468 killings in 2015.
Everything you wrote there does not erase the fact that Jamaica is very dangerous, violent, and unsafe, especially for white people.
