Gorilla lives matter?
C’mon, cmon. It’s # MonkeyLivesMatter.
I’m sure that these same people up in arms about the “murder” of the ape have no prob with the hundreds of babies murdered that same day. Anthropomorphic theater, adopting legal juris prudence terminology created for humans by humans to call the rescue of a child “murder” of an animal.
I would be interested in the caliber of weapon used. And shot placement. You know, just in case.

If the parents have been clueless and negligent, why not just handle it like any store or other public venue would-sue them for the cost to replace the expensive animal...
Kids are SO fast & can get away from you before you can
imagine it. - Our son once got away from me & ran under
the hippo “fence of sorts” (it was many years ago at the
Memphis, TN zoo). It wasn’t a fence, just a metal bar that
a small child could duck under easily & fall into the
hippopotamus pool. - Surely they’ve improved the facility
since then (46 yrs. ago).
If that poor old monkey could have dragged that kid into his lair, we could have had a real life Tarzan. “Bunelo! Bundelo! Kreegah!” But no, they had to shoot to the father who would have instilled discipline, responsibility and appreciation. Sheesh.
Mob psychology run amok. It might just as easily have gone the other way. They could all be screaming at the zoo for not securing the enclosure.
No, I think actually BLM was upset, because this was being called a case of white privilege. Except that the folks saying that had not noticed the baby was, um, black.
Now, I’m sure that if it had been a white baby, PETA would have just shot the baby to keep it from disturbing the endangered animal.
Oops, forgot to /off Sarc on that last post
Let's face it. It's big business. It's all about breeding and there's BIG bucks.
Jack Hanna on FOX this morning said the situation was human life vs animal life- seconds counted & taking out the gorilla was the right decision.
Mentally ill, or retarded.
Yeah, it’s sad. Yeah, the parents need to watch their kid. In the end, it is an animal.
1st world problems, shake my head.
Exactly. An animal’s life was terminated for no other reason than the utter stupidity of a dumb human. I have seen this before and always wonder if the animal will react defensively and in one situation to defend it’s baby. I hope these people are sued.
I only saw the latter part of the interview, Hanna called the decision a “no-brainer” but he also seemed somewhat critical of the parents.
Yup. If it’s a choice between a human or an animal, save the human.
These PETA bastards can KMA. I’d love to give ‘em a meat-powered beatdown.
