We at The Fix are not legal experts -- many of us went into journalism precisely because we did not want to go to law school -- so we would never presume to offer a lawmaker under indictment our thoughts on their legal strategy. But we do get paid to report on politics, so we do feel somewhat qualified to analyze the political strategy a lawmaker might embrace under those circumstances.

Rep. Brown's ethics query on hold
By Bruce I. Friedland
Times-Union staff writer,
The ethics investigation against Brown stems from a $50,000 Lexus that Brown's daughter received from an African businessman facing a prison sentence.
Brown lobbied the Justice Department to deport the businessman rather than send him to prison. The man, convicted of trying to bribe customs officials to allow him to ship helicopters out of the country, went to prison.
After reports about the Lexus surfaced, Brown's daughter sold the car and donated the proceeds to charity.
She looks like one of the orangutan leaders in Planet of the Apes.
Ugliness is only skin deep, but stupid goes clear down to the bones.
The amazing thing here is the fact people were stupid enough to elect her.
For sheer entertainment value, I have twice tried to add Shiela Jackson Lee to the “notable alumni” section of the Wikipedia page for the haughty University of Virginia.
In neither instance did this stick on the page, in spite of Ms. Jackson Lee proudly citing her JD from UV(a).
What secret are the UV(a) defenders trying to hide?
BTW, Cheryl Mills is one of those haughty Cavalier law school grads, but she minored in “Corruption”.
The words of a guilty person that is desperate.
LOL! Choking on my BLT...
That, I believe.
Now that’s a tough one there...
Go Gator!
Must we be so irreverent and disrespectful? After all, she’s yet another person of color who is being railroaded and pilloried by the white man’s justice system.
That’s an insult to clams!
And I was boiling over with sarcasm...
HERE is a shining example of this woman's intellect. Decide for yourself.
