It was a win/win for Republicans:

1. Trump drops out and Pence loses. Sets Ryan up for next time around in 2020 and they get to keep the Uniparty in control - with fake opposition - Hillary in the White House.

2. If Trump doesn’t drop out, they’ve wounded him and taken away the next story for days to come.

We had a huge win in the debate with Trump destroying her.
