I used to subscribe to the Free Press, which I'd take to work to peruse and then do the daily crossword with a buddy. But that ceased with the strike - when was that - mid-90s? Then came the JOA, and the nascent online version not long after that. (I think.) So I started reading online, being lucky to have internet access at work.
I went for a cheap trial subscription of the News in 2013, and they dropped the ball BIGTIME, not delivering the November 22nd paper, which had a 50th Kennedy assassination edition that I wanted a copy of. Their advertising said 'If you don't get your paper, call this number and we'll get one out to you today!' Needless to say, they didn't, and I was pretty hacked off, told them to cancel then and there.
So it was back to online-only, for me. I only scan for local stories and sports, and get the rest of the hard news, mainly from here. Even Nolan Finley, who used to be tolerable, has gone off the rails.
A pox on both their houses...
And NYT and WaPo still flailing about with their propaganda - they will end up in the virtual gutter before they’re done going all-in against trump.
