Better than Romney

Perhaps if one is using their emotions to decide.

Trump earned our trust and we don't have to trust or like those he chooses. He has given no indication that he is naive enough to sabotage his agenda yet so many "concern trolls" are acting like the folks who are harassing the Electors or crying for a recount.

The man has earned our trust and support until such time as there is actual evidence that he no longer deserves it.

I get ya. And yes, Petreus could possibly be a fine SOS.
But you have to admit that the political fallout would be tremendously damaging to a brand new administration that has promised to drain the swamp and run D.C. in a manner we’ve not seen in ages.

Petraeus by not being in jail is a living example of the lack of equal justice under law in this country. Can you imagine if a rank-and-file soldier did what he did?

Exactly. You have to feel for all of the rank and file servicemen who've done time in military prison for far more minor offenses.

Petraeus should find a job working for Hillary's foundation, they deserve one another.

I think that hiring Petraeous would be a mistake.

He pled to a misdemeanor of "unlawful removal or retention of classified information". At a minimum, Hillary is also guilty of this offense.

He should never work in a official position, again -- ESPECIALLY one that requires a security clearance.

Could Petraeus even get a security clearance anymore?

"Normal" people couldn't. But, Sandy Berger was able to get a clearance again after his shenanigans (removing classified info from the National Archives).

These crooks, swindlers, traitors, phony conservatives, globalists, neoconservatives (etc) are like ticks.

If Bannon is as bad (/s) as the media tells us he is, hopefully most of these scumbags will be rejected.

“Could Petraeus even get a security clearance anymore?”

that part is easy: President Trump grants Petraeus a pardon, which wipes his record clean, and then orders Petraeus’s security clearance. Easy, Peasy. If not necessarily wise.

“Perhaps a hello freeper could enlighten me? I’m not terribly familiar with Petraeus”

Sure. I’d be happy to help:

just google:

“Petraeus”

You do know how to google, right?

Sure I can. I just don’t trust it. I believe very, very little of what I read. I would rather get the skinny from people who actually KNOW these things and can help to point someone in the right direction.

I really don’t understand the softening on Mitt Romney that I see in this thread. The man was one of the most visceral opponents of Trump (even when he didn’t need to be). It is clear that he is ideologically opposed to new direction of the Republican Party and should be ostracized from it....not given a position of authority within it.

POTUS can grant any clearance to anyone he chooses and for any reason he chooses.

No. No. A thousand times no to Petraeus, Romney and the rest of these RINO losers, naysayers and progressive fellow travellers. Now is the time for a complete repudiation of these quislings - not forgiveness.
