He is teetering on the edge of telling soldiers that they do not have to follow the oath they took upon enlisting or being commissioned and that they do not have to obey the UCMJ’ i.e. supporting mutiny. He is speaking here as a community organizer and not as the Commander in Chief.

BS. Anyone who even hinting at criticizing Obama was court martialed.

Obama Reminds Troops They Have the Right to 'Protest Against Authority' and 'Criticize Our President'

WTF???

I remember commander's calls in the 1970's telling us explicitly to stay out of politics with regard to Nixon. Also no bumper stickers that were political in nature.

Obama made seven points (Meaning we probably should do the exact opposite of each Obama suggestion):

-- While terrorists can kill innocent people, they are not an existential threat to the nation;
-- Put as few U.S. troops as possible in harm's way overseas;
-- Uphold American values and adhere to the rule of law while fighting terrorism;
-- Fight terrorists in a way that does not alienate local populations and create more terrorists;
-- Be transparent and accountable to allow for "a more informed public debate" and provide "a potential check on unfettered executive power."
-- Use diplomacy;
-- Uphold the civil liberties that define us.

I’m pretty sure he has never read the U.C.M.J. if he has even heard of it.

I remember quite a few military men that stood up against him and lost their freedom.

***Obama reminded the troops “that each of us has...the universal right to speak your minds and to protest against authority;***

Andrew Jackson shot troops and militia men for doing just that!

What was his stance on troops criticizing authority when he first came into office? It’s easy for him to say now that he’s leaving. How many Generals did he fire in the last 8 years for this very thing? He’s now cultivating favor for future criticism of Trump. Open criticism of the Commander in Chief was not tolerated when I was serving.
