WomanH: Boyfriend Tried to Bribe Me to Get an Abortion, Offered to Pay Me $75,000

A lawsuit filed in Manhattan last week brings to light how frequently women say they face pressure to abort their unborn children against their will.

Position 9

Not in use

The New York Post reports Elmira Naymark, 32, claims in her lawsuit that her former boyfriend, Ron Ozer, 29, tried to bribe her with $75,000 to abort her unborn daughter.

Naymark said she and Ozer, a rich portfolio manager in New York City, dated for about 2 ½ years. She said he bought her diamond earrings and took her on trips across the world; he also introduced her to his parents and hinted about marrying her.

When she became pregnant, though, she said his attitude changed. Naymark said Ozer urged her to “take a pill” and “call the clinic” to have an abortion, but she refused. Later, according to the lawsuit, one of Ozer’s friends approached her with an offer of $75,000 if she aborted the child.

Here’s more from the report:

Ozer, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology grad who owns a $2 million West Village pad in a building where Robert De Niro once lived, swore he would deny the child was his, court papers say.

Then he had a colleague offer Naymark a pile of cash for her to end the pregnancy, even suggesting she could use the money to freeze her eggs and have fertility treatments later “with the support network of a husband,” according to court papers.

“He wants to help you out and take care of this,” the friend allegedly texted Naymark. “This isn’t the only chance for you to have children. You don’t have to force this and do it alone.

“He’d be willing to offer a lump sum of money to you . . . I’m sure he would have no problem with 50k-75,000+.”

Despite the pressure and large bribe, Naymark chose life for her daughter. However, she said she is struggling financially because Ozer has not paid child support.

In the lawsuit, she asks for a paternity test and full custody of her daughter. She also wants Ozer to pay child support to create a lifestyle for the daughter that is “proportionate with [his] vast wealth,” including private school tuition, money for summer camp and a $5 million life-insurance policy that includes Naymark and her daughter as beneficiaries, according to the report.

Whether Naymark’s motives are financial or purely for the benefit of her daughter, her allegations are not uncommon. Women frequently report feeling pressured or coerced into an abortion.

A 2004 study in the Medical Science Monitor found that 64 percent of abortions are coerced, typically by the partner. Another study found that 50 percent of women who had abortions said they felt pressured by a partner, parent or other significant person in their life. Victims of sex trafficking also report that their abusers frequently force them to have abortions.

In the past several months, LifeNews has reported several cases of women whose partners physically abused them after they refused to abort their unborn babies. In several of the cases, the coercion and violence resulted in the unborn baby’s death.

A lump sum $75K offer for an abortion should be a nice starting point to determine monthly child support payments for the next 18 years.

Wonder if the guy actually said he’s deny the child is his. (This has been impossible for at least 20 years because DNA testing is 100%.) I’ll bet the pregnant woman is as much a lowlife as he is, although of course I don’t think she should have an abortion.

If it’s really all about “choice” to get rid of some unwanted fetal tissue, shouldn’t the sperm donor have the same rights to determine the outcome?

He looks like an ass ... Not sure about her. Physically quite charming, but something offputting about her eyes.

However ... Gentlemen, this is why you keep your pecker in your pants until you get married. Sexual intercourse ==> babies. It's nature's way; it's God's design.

I’ve known a couple of women who had become pregnant without a husband. In each case, she felt that she had to take care of her baby, that in spite of troubles with the father, the fact the she had a baby inside her overrode any desire to terminate the pregnancy.

Re: In other words, $75K isn’t enough.....

So what amount do you think should be enough to induce a woman to have her unborn child slaughtered in the womb for the father’s convenience?

He bought her diamond earrings, took her on trips across the world, AND had cash to offer $75,000 to have an abortion? BUT he was too cheap to buy a 50 cent condom?

NBA players have commented on many occasions that an abortion costs between $50-$100k for them.. That seems to be the going rate for the kind of woman that would get intentionally pregnant in order to blackmail them.

It's not about the requested abortion which I am totally opposed to, however I don't see any altruism on her part based on this comment:

She also wants Ozer to pay child support to create a lifestyle for the daughter that is “proportionate with [his] vast wealth,” including private school tuition, money for summer camp and a $5 million life-insurance policy

Since the guy wants absolutely nothing to do with the unborn child, her best course of action would be to accept the $75K with a legal agreement that the guy would never again have contact with the child once it is born.

If she successfully gets what she demands, then the child will forever be the ping pong ball suffering the consequences of two battling parents until the child is eighteen years old.

A little note to rich men: try not to have sex because it could lead to pregnancy. And you don’t have the right to abort a baby in someone else’s body.

With that said, she is going overboard. Her child will be fine without living is ridiculous wealth.
