That is just imported ammo. Wonder how much domestically produced ammo was sold?
Side note: Cabelas had a good supply of 22lr yesterday, but going fast.

I just bought about 60 lbs of 7.62 Russian. You really can’t have too much.

Glad I could contribute to that.

That's only two ounces per person in the US. Your gun could starve to death on that.

That’s only 900 truckloads, 75 truckloads per month. Domestic ammo has got to be far more.

There were some good ammo deals on Black Friday. I got 350 rounds of .45 ACP (Remington and Winchester) from Cabela’s and Academy Sports, plus a bit of this-and-that. Free shipping, too.

Thanks, Breitbart. I had no idea 17,850 was nearly 18,000.

I think there’s going to be a big drop in ammo prices soon. I’m waiting for that.

I still long for the days when I did my own reloading. Alas, I left home and didn't take the reloading equipment with me, although I did take my rifles and pistols, and my equipment was sold. I digress. When I quit reloading, I could make a bullet (30-06 & .270) for about 10 cents. Got a lot of brass from the local National Guard unit. Just had to fiddle with the primer area. Had 100's, if not, 1000's of rounds.
I also reloaded 303 British & 30-30.

And this is after the ATF banned the importation of 5.45x39 7N6 ammunition.

18,000 tons seems a conservative estimate to me. I bought a couple hundred pounds myself, while most of what I buy is domestic product, mostly components.
I like PMC’s battle packs of 5.56X45 62GR M855 on stripper clips. They store nicely, load well, and shoot decently. That, and sealed tins of Ruski steel stuff in 5.56x45 Nato, 7.62x52 Nato, and 7.62x54R store well and shoot better than not having lots of ammo when one needs it.
That’s just for the stash. I load my own on everything for shooting save rimfire and the Mosin/Nagant.

Guilty.
I’m building an Hungarian AK underfolder this weekend and she’ll need to be fed for the next year or 10 plus her AKM sisters and AK74 little sisters. And then there are Mosins and VEPR 54Rs to feed too.
