US President-elect Donald Trump may reverse up to 70 percent of President Barack Obama’s executive orders, practically erasing the legacy of the first African-American head of state, Former House speaker Newt Gingrich told Fox.

Obama, who signed over 260 executive orders in his two terms in office, urged Trump, who will be inaugurated on January 20, not to circumvent Congress when trying to enact his agenda. Obama used his executive powers to push through labor, climate and immigration reforms after Congress refused to go along with his proposed programs.

Look there’s only so many hours of the day to sign papers. 70% of 8 years worth of dictates is a lot of paper. One day might not be enough.

Also the impact of abruptly ending some executive order might be a factor here. If it regards items in transit, personnel in positions, ect.

I’m fine if there’s good just reason to delay for a few days some repeals. Trump wants to change government but he doesn’t have to be wasteful either.

Why stop at 70 percent; are even 30 percent worth keeping? Trust but verify.

He is really going to have to justify that last 30%. Hope it’s pre-inaug talk.

Not so....It is done by numbers....and can be done by listing them and overturning them in one swoop.

Trump needs to revisit EO’s from all prior presidents ,, ones allowing public sector unions for instance ,, and anything from Wilson or FDR forward to include Nixon , Johnson and JFK. Make implementing anything a nightmare without the support structure afforded by almost 100 years of progressivism.

An important one is how he removed the work requirements for welfare...thus incentivizing one to stay on section 8 and have babies without the dad under the same roof...

The one executive order I want to see reversed is the one from JFK allowing federal employees to unionize.

Isn’t that the truth? Look at that forceful, MASCULINE in-charge stride! Thank God we have a MAN in charge, not Obama, not Hillary. We finally have HOPE for real change.

When Trump is done, Obama will be able to write his legacy on a cocktail napkin.

“US President-elect Donald Trump may reverse up to 70 percent of President Barack Obama’s executive orders, practically erasing the legacy of the first African-American head of state....”

So, in other words, by pointing out that Obama’s “African-American,” the author suggests that it would be an insult to erase 70% of his “legacy” - therefore racist. In fact, by bringing race into a topic, the author is showing that THEY see everything through the prism of race, and are therefore racist.

Personally, I’m disappointed in Trump if it’s only 70%. I believe he vowed to erase everything our dear, departing President did to our country via executive order. Then again, this is the media reporting this, so it probably IS 100%.

I just submitted to Trump’s MAGA website my plan to fix this.

“Trump To Begin Presidency By Repealing 70% Of Obama’s Legacy”

One can only hope. Still, I’d rather see at least 110% of it repealed.

“...and we didn’t send him a super majority.”

Don’t even THINK of making excuses this time around.

If the pantywaist Republicans in Congress, and their establishment sellouts everywhere else begin to fold, there will be hell to pay.

Finally we have a Patton to lead us in the war against America that the liberals have been implementing since the ‘40’s.

it is quite funny tomkat in that since the election Mr. Trump has appeared the president or at least very presidential whereas obamma is acting like a petulant child.
