Big Government can pass whatever laws it wants. None of them will stop me should I decide to end my life because of severe illness, disease, or trauma.
I think that’s a key point.
On a spiritual level, I think suicide is probably a terrible mistake.
On behalf of loved ones, I think suicide is very often a tragic mistake.
But if someone wants to kill themself they will. It’s really not that hard.
But having the government involved is bad. Very bad. I oppose any law which allows the government to get involved in killing people who have “lived too long”. It’s a terrible slippery slope.
I say: keep suicide illegal, and be prepared for people to go ahead and do it themselves as they have always done.
It’s not big government that wants to stop, but to help, in this respect.
