Once again, I am not taking issue with Israel’s actions. My point was to make clear that the statement in post #20 (”If someone is coming to kill you, rise against him and kill him first.”) is not found in the Old Testament (or in the New) as some might have wrongly assumed.

I’m not even seeing much news on the alphabets yet. It’s breaking over the UK Telegraph, BBC, Zerohedge and social media, but no interest in the US yet, including Drudge. The longer the Fraud takes to respond, the more it concerns me.

Good deal. Some of Putin’s ammo is gone. Assad shouldn’t be sending it to Hezbollah. People who don’t want us arming terrorists, but who LOVE Putin, never seem to care that he arms Iran, Assad, and Hezbollah.

I wish I had a way to know more about what’s going on there. I try not to admire Putin too much, but the world is obviously long overdue for a realignment, and it’s just kind of fun to watch history being made. It is what.

It wasn't reported as a plane by the Syrians.

Nothing to worry about. Russian ammunition destroyed so they cannot go to Hezbollah. It's absurd to think Israel clears these things with Putin before it defends its right to exist as a nation.

Putin is a tzar - Russians like tzars (what an odd word).

Russia is a backwards racist country who average rural citizen hates Americans from what I have gathered from recent conversations with several Russians. I understand lots of us think differently and the the Russia "people" are "very similar to us" - not so much I'm learning.

I guess the people in large cities are okay but I've now heard several times - and I don't know why you would - folks having unnecessary local messing with the tourists trouble.

Putin learned the english language to a high level of fluency in a couple of years - thats hard to do, my point is this guys quite intelligent. I think he has people killed, that reporter with the polonium and he turned that presidents face in something out a Dick Tracy comic book.- that used to bother me not so much now, we via drones and special ops have people killed evey day - we set appointments almost daily those get keep with a boom. We've been at war now for yikes over 15 years now holy cow!

I guess if there is a point to this, it is recent years have made us re-evaluate Putin as we have been exposed a whee bit to the decline of world wide dominance feeling. Putin is Russia First with a nice mix of domestic paranoia that feeds nicely in to the underlying Slavic racism that is from what I'm lead to understand fairly prevalent.

I understand this is what the media says Trump is but discussing what morons believe much less spout as partyprop is a waste of both of our times as we know of the many things DJT was able to erect a big tent around - groups and issues based on hate and contempt for life and liberty were not allowed in and that is garbage.

I could be way off base on that I don't speak Russian, hang out there so take it with a grain of salt.

I also understand that effective demagogues ply their craft by weaving the lies with a large amount of truth.

What is the Truth about Putin and Russia?

Well they always suck and backstab you but you know that going in

The Russians like Putin and Putin likes Russia being Russian and wants his country to kick ass. He almost knows how but policies to protect russian culture (all the mean hateful stuff) is accompanied by byzantine and endemic corruption that he seems to get himself meshed in as so much of his economy is oil based and oil has collapsed in price.

He kinda loses his super evil genius status as he hasn't been able to lead Russia economically very well, but a nation is much more then its economy or government and Russians trust him.

He crushed Chechnya and sent Ziranoffsky??? to eradicate that region - that was pretty medieval at the time - now it looks quite wise.

Is he evil? I doubt a patriotic Russian would say so and I wonder really what difference does it matter anyhow:)

Putin is a serious player in the game of realpolitick and plays it well. He isn't going away.

Syria is about a couple of things but one of the things was to show the world that if you are on the Russian side of the ledger you will receive help when the feces and fan blades intersect (I doubt that will be the case but it was a good opportunity for him).

Contrast that to the Americas under Chairman Mullah Obama.

Perhaps its just that Bush,Clinton,Bush,Obama have so lowered the bar to what passes for a leader - Putin is starting to look better as time moves along and history plays out. Anyhow DoughyOne thanks for letting blather on be well

There is a an end user agreement when arms are sold. Those that Russia sells are knowingly sold to some of the worst terrorist. If it’s wrong for Obama - as many posters here will mention, why is it okay for Putin to send arms to Iran (advanced air defense, for example), to Assad, to Hamas, and to Hezbollah? I think we agree.

I thought Assad was an Alawite Muslim.

Alawites are a type of Shia. per the article:

The Alawites, also known as Alawis (ʿAlawīyyah Arabic: علوية‎‎), are part of a branch of Islam, Alawi Islam, centered in Syria, who follow the Twelver school of Shia Islam but with syncretistic elements.

I know very well... To say they haven’t been tested very well yet is way off the mark. They’ve been in test for 11 years and are failing miserably. They are extremely costly to fly per flight our and sustainment cost is asinine.

They started off the production line in 2006, 11 years later they’re still a mess and DoD is just dumping money to fix the massive amount of problems. It’s the most expensive weapon system in DOD’s history, and that sustainment costs is the majority of DOD’s $1.3 trillion cost estimate. If that’s the DoD estimate you can multiply that by 3 to get a more accurate figure.

Read the history, it fails to meet it’s objectives and requirements constantly so they change the requirements to what it can meet.

A similar argument was made in 1938 in reference to minority German ethnic in a certain European state..

There is an ongoing myth that any action against Assad or Putin is support for ISIS. This applies to Syrians, Americans, the French, and even to the Israelis. I think of it as the success of the pro-putin propagandists who have a binary, Manichaeist view of Syria. There is no subtleties or pluralism in Syria, in this theory. There is good, which is Assad, Iran, Hezbollah, and Putin. And there is bad, which is everyone else. The Kurds are not even liked by many of the pro-Assad-pro-putin peeps because they are pro-American. It’s weird.

You’re right. Assad’s an Alawite, and he, like the North Korean criminal communists family, is something like a monarchy. They just hand the power down to their sons who preach a mumbo jumbo of socialism and other claptrap to stay in power.

Huh? Avoiding killing Russians in these attacks is a pretty high priority for Israel. Again, the fact that Russia hasn’t done anything about this attack or the 4 or 5 before it targeting Hezbollah indicates that they have a working relationship with Israel on such matters.

You think Israel is more worried about protecting Russian soldiers than protecting Israel? Or do you think Israel needs to ask Putin for permission to protect Israel? And Russians have been killed before without Putin acting. Why do you think he doesn’t honestly report about his solders killed fighting for abroad for his empire? Poor soldier died in a training accident...in Ukraine, or in Syria. Putin will protect his soldiers if he wants to. He’ll not avenge them if he doesn’t want to. He’s not exactly accountable on these subjects.
