Neil Gorsuch, the Nominee for a Stolen Seat
NYT ^

Posted on 01/31/2017 8:34:31 PM PST by MNDude

It’s been almost a year since Senate Republicans took an empty Supreme Court seat hostage, discarding a constitutional duty that both parties have honored throughout American history and hobbling an entire branch of government for partisan gain.

President Trump had a great opportunity to repair some of that damage by nominating a moderate candidate for the vacancy, which was created when Justice Antonin Scalia died last February. Instead, he chose Neil Gorsuch, a very conservative judge from the federal Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit whose jurisprudence and writing style are often compared to those of Justice Scalia.

If Judge Gorsuch is confirmed, the court will once again have a majority of justices appointed by Republican presidents, as it has for nearly half a century. For starters, that spells big trouble for public-sector labor unions, environmental regulations and women’s access to contraception. If Trump gets the chance to name another justice, the consequences could be much more dire.

In normal times, Judge Gorsuch — a widely respected and, at 49, relatively young judge with a reliably conservative voting record — would be an obvious choice for a Republican president.

Yes, let’s talk some more about the circumstances of the “stolen” seat.....

Let’s talk LOUD AND LONG ABOUT IT!!!

Let’s ask John Podesta and the person he was corresponding with about Scalia just a few days before he died....

I found these two articles .... I’m thinking the retirement of a justice, the one Laura was referring to, could be based on the rumor/info in the first article on Kennedy. As for Ginzy, she says she’s staying.

It’s not a given that Hillary would have renominated Garland. He would have been a reliable vote for the liberal faction on the Court, but she would have probably picked someone younger and female.

“This will be the line on all MSM sources...stolen seat.”

FOX is not exempt from your prediction. It came true even before you made it.

10:00 p.m. broadcast of Fox local news in Boston, Jan. 31st.

Newsreader woman stated as fact that Trump will now get to appoint someone to a seat stolen from Barack Obama.

No attribution to anyone, no calling it an opinion, just reported as a fact of the story.

And every single day’s broadcast from that station has at least one such objectionable slant, usually more, in their political coverage. They’re as bad as any of the other networks.

‘Crush your enemies (democrats/progressives), see them driven before you and hear the lamentations of their women.’

It's sometimes hard to distinguish the liberal women from the liberal men. But as a rule the liberal women have deeper voices and bigger balls

Not surprised to hear it. I would also not be surprised to see her hang in there until one or the other of the scenarios discussed happens, just for spite. You have to give the ‘Rats credit, if only of the diabolical kind, because once they get their hands on power, it often seems like only the Grim Reaper can pry it from their faltering hands.

Sure, she says she’s staying, but I don’t think she’ll make it. Maybe she can last 4 more years, but I doubt she’ll make it 8 and I’m pretty certain Trump is getting a second term if the libs keep throwing tantrums.
