I have had very good results with Ancestry, MyHeritage and other free and paid services.
This isn't the underlying premise at all. At least it's not my premise ... so it can't be "flawed."
I think many Americans are perfectly capable of having long, fulfilling STEM careers. My point is that there aren't very many of them that come out of these tech programs prepared for one. I attribute it to any number of factors, such as:
1. They aren't interested in STEM fields.
2. Those who ARE interested in them aren't well educated -- even by the schools that specialize in STEM education.
3. Parents don't cultivate a love of STEM subjects in their kids.
4. The politicization of science has destroyed the respectability of the entire discipline. Why pursue a challenging career in science when you can pursue a much easier career in setting a political agenda for scientists?
5. Etc., etc., etc.
1. An undergraduate engineer from a U.S. engineering school commands an average salary of $X.
2. An engineering technician who has no college education or perhaps an associate's degree or technical certification(s) commands an average salary of $Y, which might be 60% of $X.
3. The undergraduate engineer from a U.S. engineering school has some valuable skills, but does not have the ability to think rationally and exercise independent judgment, cannot write coherent English, etc.
4. A prospective employer recognizes that the undergraduate engineer from a U.S. engineering school is basically a good technician -- and should be paid $Y, not $X. But the "engineer" educated in the U.S. is not willing to work for $Y.
5. An engineer educated in a foreign school has many of the same limitations as the one educated in the U.S. school (particularly when it comes to English fluency), but is willing to work for $Y.
It's really that simple.
Isn’t it also true that there never were as many engineering jobs as the number once going into the field?
You seem to be implying that George W. Bush et al did not “do the research” on “the religion of peace”.
They all have their advantages and their challenges. Electrical and aerospace engineers went through a long period where the field shrank as the U.S. space program was curtailed. Petroleum engineers work in one of the most highly cyclical industries anywhere. I work as a civil engineer, which pays less than most other engineering fields but tends to be the most steady.
And its coming sooner than any of us believe Im afraid.
I agree. I think conservatives may have let their guard down with Trump's election and pending SCOTUS appointments.
We're seeing how the Left is going to respond going forward. They will not accept Trump. They will not accept Pence.
There is no middle ground with the Left. That's what we fail to understand. There will be no compromise unless we agree to their positions.
A very educational post!

Of course.
Oh, he did the research. But the problem with Washington is that it was spending way too much time trying to be that infamous “politically correct.” But he did make the first real effort by relieving Hussein of Iraq when Saddam went too far by invading Kuwait in August of 1990 after his gassing of the Kurds killing approximately 5000 there in 1988. He had also been collaberating with Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and Bin Laden. He was dangerous and Bush knew it.

The Clinton administration knew it and did nothing but toss a few missiles in and killed a night watchman at the Al-Shifa pharmaceutical factory in Khartoum North, Sudan in August 1998. “Infinite Reach” did not destroy the WMD, VX, plant as it was not there.

“A Somali is THE MOST WORTHLESS human on planet earth.”
Anecdotally, I have heard that as far as Muslims rate one another, Somalis are considered the trailer trash of Islam. They’re actually below Palestinians.
Don’t know if it’s true but I have heard that one more than a few occasions.
Agree with much of what you have observed. From my perspective as a white American male electrical type; the university environment seems prejudiced against white American males, the private sector seems prejudiced against white American males and government seems prejudiced against white American males. This is just one factor of many contributing to the sorry state of affairs seen today...
