National Security Advisor Michael Flynn has resigned over controversy surrounding his ties with Russia.

The military veteran stepped down late on Monday night less than a month into President Donald Trump's administration amid mounting questions over his future and his close links with the Kremlin.

His stunning announcement, first reported by CNN, came just hours after sources close to the government revealed that the Justice Department had warned the new administration that his links with the Kremlin had put him in a compromising position and left him open to blackmail.

and of course the burning question in every demoicrat’s mind is “what did Donald Trump know and when did he know it”. I am so sick of these SOBs.

“This is the beginning of the end for Donald Trump”

It is also interesting that at the first sign of possible embarrassment and/or harm to the Administration that Mr. Flynn stepped down. Forced to resign or not, he did it. I’d daresay that there were several of Ubama’s Cabal who’d have fought tooth and nail defying everyone.

This is actually a very ominous warning to all of the traitors in this country. This administration has set a new bar and is abiding by its ethical standards. This is a good thing to do before Sessions begins to unleash his purge of the establishment. This sets the standard which is going to be enforced throughout the government. Leading by example is the best way.

This isn’t a good thing for Trump, but it also is NOT a disaster calamity that will end his presidency like so many others clutch their pearls with. It was clear to the Administration that action was needed, and it was taken.

I’m not about to throw in the towel over this - not by a long shot.

I agree with your assessment too but the establishment has done far worse things and this is very necessary when you are going to start to begin disciplinary actions back on them. You need to live up to your own standards before you can impose them on those you lead.

Flynn should never have been selected in the first place. Life long democrat, obamas former Director of the Defence Intelligence Agency 2012-2014. It is best for all that he is gone.

President Trump should simply say, “I’ve hired and fired enough people over the course of my life to know that most of the time the people you hire work out, but sometimes they don’t.”

“Next topic.”

Honestly, I liked Flynn, but I was never comfortable with him. It always seemed like he was capable of doing something like this. He admitted talking to the Russian ambassador several times during transition. Not okay. Loose canon syndrome.

That’s the problem with being too cozy with a hostile foreign power who is giving you money.

Philippe’s got his own way of saying things, but he has a point about the real consequences of fake news...Hillary Clinton added,

Dear Mike Flynn & Mike Flynn Jr.,

What goes around COMETS around.…

Good point. If you support the president, don’t do things that will harm his success. Don’t cry for Flynn.

I won’t hold it against him that he’s a Democrat. The new communist left is turning a lot of former Democrats into Trump allies, like Jim Webb. Increasingly, we’re becoming a 2-party country of regular Americans and traitors.

That's an excellent point.

A contrast: It was OUTRAGEOUS that hillary received debate questions from Donna Brazille. If that isn't interfering with the election, what is? So why didn't they both step down?

“This isn’t a good thing for Trump”

Trump fired him.

He wouldn’t have done it if it wasn’t a good thing.
