In Illinois, the Cure Violence organization is called CeaseFire. Slutkin says violence is a public health problem and should be treated like any other contagious disease.

Exactly. To end the spread of Cholera, eliminate the contaminated water source that carries the vibrio cholerea organislm, and treat the infected patients that could spread the disease. To halt the bubonic plague, kill the vectors of the disease, the rats bearing the piggybacking disease-carrying fleas.

In Chicago, drain the swamp, and arm the victims so they can kill the vectors.
