Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., is under investigation by the Justice Department.
The House Ethics Committee released a statement saying it was deferring consideration of the matter after being asked to do so by the Justice Department, a move that signals that department is running its own probe.
The committee said it first received a referral on Hunter from the Office of Congressional Ethics last August. The committee voted unanimously on Wednesday to defer the matter after being asked to do so by the Justice Department.

Politically, the son has moved to the left of his Father on several issues.
Duncan Hunter, the son, is well to the left of his Father on the immigration issue.
However, there are a lot of Hispanics in that Congressional District, so maybe a Republican could not be elected without moving to the Left.

Apparently he has overstayed his welcome. He is one of the good guys.. but has been there WAY WAY WAY too long. It’s inevitable. If you are there long enough you are going to do something and if they’re watching for you... well... here ya go.
Duncan Hunter is a great person .. as far as I know .. and he’s from the San Diego area .. and I don’t recall any local news regarding him doing anything bad.
He has a great reputation here; former military; big supporter of our vets.
But, if I remember correctly, the person in charge of the “ethics” is, in my opinion, lacking in his own ethics.
But that’s typical of the LEFT. Put such a person in power, and then they can’t be attacked. When is the GOP going to figure it out ..??

Hi, Jane. This thread is the first I heard of this case against Duncan Hunter.
Details appearing on this thread seem to me to be beyond what the article link above provided, so evidently some Freepers have been following this story and are filling in some facts.
But, yes, the Ethics Comm agreed to let Justice look at it before pursuing the allegation before their committee.
Ethics Committee in the league of Inspector Clouseau Comey, scratching for anything to distract from the corruption and ineptitude of Washington.
