From the AMERICAN COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS and the how do people survive the climate change when they move from New York to Miami? department, comes this warning that has all these deaths attached to the press release. As I said about a similar press release wailing about potential excess deaths earlier today, show me death certificates that puts climate change as the cause.
ACP decries devastating impact of climate change order
Todays executive order moves us in the wrong direction on this issue, said Nitin S. Damle, MD, MS, MACP, ACP President. It signals a retreat from our nations efforts to curb carbon emissions and address climate change. Climate change is a problem we should be attacking aggressively on a global level.
In a 2016 paper, Climate Change and Health, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, ACP outlined the negative consequences that climate change will have on public and individual health. The paper cited higher rates of respiratory and heat-related illnesses, increased prevalence of diseases passed by insects, water-borne diseases, food and water insecurity and malnutrition, and behavioral health problems as potential health effects of climate change. The elderly, the sick, and the poor are especially vulnerable.
The executive order specifically directs the EPA to rewrite, and presumably, loosen the standards set forth in the Clean Power Plan. As cited in ACPs paper, implementing the Clean Power Plan in the U.S. would avoid 3,600 premature deaths, 1,700 heart attacks, 90,000 asthma attacks, and 300,000 missed work and school days.
Climate change is real, is largely the result of human activity, and is affecting our health now. ACP is very concerned about the harmful health effects that climate change is having on our patients, continued Dr. Damle. We need to take action now to protect the health of our communitys most vulnerable members including our children, our seniors, people with chronic illnesses, and the poor because our climate is already changing and people are already being harmed.
fyi
The only way we are going to reduce CO2 is to grow more trees with a high amount of Rubisco. Such are the Common Horse-chestnut, Black Walnut, American Sweetgum, Ponderosa Pine, Red Pine, White Pine, London Plane, Hispaniolan Pine, Douglas Fir, Scarlet Oak, Red Oak, Virginia Live Oak and Bald CypressAnother. These are good carbon sinks. Another, is is to add micrometre-sized iron particles in the form of either hematite (iron oxide) or melanterite (iron sulfate) to certain regions of the ocean. Iron is an important nutrient for phytoplankton, and adding it will promote the growth of plankton, a major biological sink for CO2.
The average level of CO2 in the atmosphere is about 396 parts per million, or about 118 parts per million over pre-industrial times. If the level decreases below 200 ppm our agriculture falters. So, we have to be careful how much CO2 is sequestered.

But Jon, I’m a medical doctor, not a tree surgeon or hugger!
Good post. However, never let proven science interfere with a doctor’s paycheck and voodoo environmental beliefs.
Next the ACP will be billing for treating carbon dioxide exchange stress (i.e. exhaling CO2 from the lungs).
The best thing to do, of course, is not to sequester CO2 at all. It’s plant-food and it does no harm.
More CO3 greens the planet!
Oops...that would be CO2!
I am sure the doctors took biology and chemistry in their premed classes and should be laughing hysterically at the CO2 nonsense. Some might wish they could stick a tranquilizer needle in the rears of these CO2 boogymen just to calm them down.
Doctors know about measurements.
Ask the Global Warmer Chicken Littles a few questions. First, in Parts-Per-Million (ppm) what is the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere? How fast is it increasing yearly in parts-per-million? What percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere is man made? A true believer of the CO2 boogyman syndrome should be able to answer these simple questions don’t you think?
CO2 levels in the atmosphere are 400ppm. Yearly increase taken on the high side is 2ppm. Human caused CO2 is 3-4 percent of all the CO2.
4% of 2 parts per million equals .08ppm. Think about that for a while. Man is causing global CO2 levels to rise at a yearly rate of .08 parts per million. Eight 100th’s of 1 part-per-million per year!!!
With that perspective, you can use it to calm that patient who is having an anxiety attack about CO2 poisoning and the ocean swallowing his hospital room in a high tide. It beats having to treat them with a calming shot.
Even people with a decade or more of college can be LIB Lunatics. What political - agenda - driven idiots. Doctors (s)...cure thy self.
It may also be helpful to remind them that the vast majority of plants on this planet evolved at a time when the CO2 was at least 1000 ppm.
As you know, at 400 ppm those plants are starving.
If we truly wanted to ‘green the planet’ we would find a way to rapidly increase atmospheric CO2.
Global cooling is far more concerning and the only solution is to give me a multi-million dollar research budget.
58 million dead from the abortion industry and the doctors are silent.
Silent on abortion as well as marijuana & gay sex. But their anti cigarette commercials are scary.
I thought that doctors used the scientific method. What a disappointment to find that Dr. Damle gets his information from unreliable sources such as CNN.
It is true that climate change is real in the sense that it has been going on for millions of years. It is NOT true that it is largely the result of human activity, that is, the science is FAR from settled!
I would hope that highly educated people like doctors, would take more time to study the real science before plunging ahead full steam and making false claims and foolishly taking action. Only charlatans do that!
ROTFLMAO!!!
Climate change is bullsh*t.
Keep in mind that many doctors finish at the bottom of their class...
Well - Doctors should know what they are talking about...
OK!! Everybody pay attention!
Lesson for today:
1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.
2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.
3. The earth is one of the suns planets.
4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.
5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.
Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?
Educated beyond their capability to think critically.
