Vaccine fears are on display today in Washington, D.C. A group called Revolution for Truth is leading an anti-vaccine event that includes a rally outside the National Press Club and talks by at least 15 speakers. The day will culminate with a speech by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an outspoken opponent to vaccines and founder of the World Mercury Project. The stated purpose of the event is to protest the biased media coverage, exploitation by the pharmaceutical industry and government protection that, the group says, perpetuate the use of what it says are dangerous inoculations.
Several dozen people gathered outside the National Press Club this morning, protecting protest signs with umbrellas. “Safety before profit,” said one sign. “Children I love suffer serious vaccine injuries,” said another. “Our children are not lab rats,” read yet another. Rally leaders with a megaphone led chants of “CNN, tell the truth! CDC, tell the truth! No vaccine mandates! No more lies!”
Many signs and chants called for a government subpoena of William Thompson, a psychologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Thompson was part of the CDC research team that investigated whether thimerosal-containing vaccines were linked to an increased incidence of autism. Following an interview by Andrew Wakefield, the British doctor known for his role in fueling the widely embraced belief that vaccines cause autism, Thompson became suspected of omitting data linking vaccines and autism in black children from the published CDC study.
Meanwhile, on a rain-soaked sidewalk outside the National Press Club, one sign summarized the conspiracy that many anti-vaccine protesters believe is behind the continued administration of vaccines to children: “Med-Pharma compensates government that mandates; doctor vaccinates; child deteriorates; Congress obfuscates. Subpoena Dr. Thompson! #CDCWhistleblower.”

Vaccines are actually far safer now rhan in the past. How many cases of autism do you have in your family? There is a high likelihood, if you have normal children, they may have the same propensity to have autistic offspring.
It is always amazing to me that people who latch on to pseudoscience and quackery completely reject anything a bonafide expert on medicine says, while avidly embracing the words of shysters who literally pull their "facts" out of their nether regions.
Being a scientist whose expertise is in the field of early countermeasures development means that I actually understand the subject very well. But I get it--to conspiracy theorists, quacks have some hidden source of "truth" which the experts in the field have somehow missed.
I hold those who push what I consider to be the advancement of depopulation vaccine programs to be “pure scum who do not care about the lives they ruin and cut short” with their murderous vaccines.
For medical interventions that were supposedly developed to advance "depopulation programs," vaccines have failed spectacularly. Our lifespan has doubled since the advent of vaccines. No longer are graveyards filled with children, as old graveyards are.
We can, of course, go back to those days when children were more likely to die by age 5 than they were to reach age 20. We can just stop all vaccinations now. The synergy between that and the growing problem of antibiotic resistance would quickly reduce the world's population from its current high of 6 or 7 billion. That, of course, is the real goal of the anti-vaxxers. They know what they are advocating, even if you don't.
Not true, vaccines are not required to go through long term safety studies with real salt water-based placebos. Most vaccine studies use another vaccine as the control placebo, or use the background substance of the vaccine.
That is because, in a real scientific study, you want to control every factor except the one item that is under study. The way to do that with vaccine studies is for the placebo to be identical to the candidate vaccine in every respect except for the antigen (immunity inducing) component. This is sometimes achieved by administering another vaccine with the exact same formulation, or an inert formulation containing all of the same components except the antigen. There are various strategies for testing the control group. Peruse "www.clinicaltrials.gov" for a while; just randomly search for vaccine studies. You will see various strategies for testing the controls. Not all of them use a placebo; some use various formulations of the candidate vaccine as a sort of internal control.
A salt-water placebo is probably the most inappropriate control for a vaccine trial. Since it contains none of the ingredients of the candidate vaccine, how are researchers supposed to "deconvolute" the study results? If, for example, researchers observe injection site inflammation in 10% of the test subjects and the control group only received a saline placebo, how can they know whether the antigen, the adjuvant, or some other component of the vaccine is responsible? If they cannot tell which component is responsible for the adverse event, how are they supposed to reformulate the vaccine to eliminate or mitigate that component?
But if the study and control groups receive vaccines that are identical except for the antigen, they can easily deconvolute their results. If the inflammation affects 10% of both the study and control groups, then some factor other than the antigen is causing the issue. But if only the study group has inflammation, the antigen is the problem and may need to be adjusted.
As I have said before, the anti-vax quacks are not scientists, do not know the first thing about the scientific method, and count on the scientific ignorance of their followers. But they do have an agenda, which is to cause the deaths of millions of young children.
I think if you reread my comment you will note that I posted I had little info on the subject and had a disclaimer to the effect I was relying upon what I had been told by a county veterans advocate. The VA is relying upon that study to assist in dementia assistance so I had no reason to dispute or to further examine the issue in that I have not had symptoms. It was purely an information posting, nothing more.
Personally I have availed myself of what vaccines in which I feel the risk is out weighed by the benefit. I get flu vaccines as some years ago the damn thing almost took me out and have begun the pneumonia regimen.
I think most here are not anti vax, but pro safety in vax. I don’t know any rational person that could argue with assuring our children have safest vax.
The vaccines that get FDA approval are safe. The very first clinical trial, the phase 1 trial, is a safety trial. And safety issues continue to be monitored throughout the clinical trial process and beyond, for as long as the drug remains on the market.
As with all drugs submitted for FDA approval, the safety profile has to show that any adverse event caused by the drug is far outweighed by the benefit of the drug. (Vaccines are considered a class of drug.)
A few years ago, one of my colleagues told me that the first smallpox vaccine had a fatality rate of about 5%. That is excessively high by our standards, but back then, it was considered a very acceptable trade-off to the fact that naturally occurring smallpox had a 25% fatality rate. Dr. Jenner, of course, made a great breakthrough in smallpox vaccine safety when he discovered that immunity to cowpox would prevent smallpox. And now that smallpox has been eliminated, the dangers of the cowpox-based vaccine are considered too high to give it to any except a small, select group of people. And even that select group of people must receive a thorough medical screening before receiving the vaccine.

As I told someone before, when there is a “crime scene” the authorities go to the eye witnesses to determine what most likely happened. When the “crime scene” is a young child or infant had an immunization followed by a reaction, parents noticed a change in behavior and then report that. Their eye witness testimony is often ignored and completely irrelevant to the “experts.” They are “just” parents, what do they know? Right ExDemMom? The experts tell us these shots are safe, we want to kill children because we question the safety of these drugs. Who is really killing children? It is the so called “experts” who refuse to acknowledge that these things are happening and as a matter of fact they purposely try to shut down anyone who dares to tell others that kids are being hurt and injured. Shame on them! First, do no harm! Remember that?
Well, I say, my Mama didn’t have to be an expert in stoves, fire and heat to know what she was talking about when she told me the stove was hot! Usually a Mama knows her child best and what she has witnessed should be taken into account.

I agree with you!
I believe that there are many who do read these threads and may not necessarily agree with either side or even comment. They have an open mind and may have even witnessed things that concerned them but had no “proof.” This forum gives people the opportunity to learn things that big pharma, CDC shills, corrupt media, profiteers of vaccines and “experts” don’t want them to know.
That is why this discussion is so important! We must build awareness and empathy if we expect our elected officials to have the political will to do something about it. I appreciate both of you and your commonsense, truthfulness and concern for the children!

There are too many of these cases and so far I have yet to hear the “experts” figure out why or even try to come up with additional tests that could be done at autopsy. I know in my Grandson’s case they tested for all drugs that people might use or abuse and carbon monoxide. That’s it! I know there are tests that can be done, how about for heavy metals? I have learned since then that there are more tests and I think that is a starting point.

Physicians are not scientists, unless they have taken a few years of extra training in research--which these quacks clearly have not. Most physicians know squat about research.
My observation is that physicians slip into quackery when they cannot profit from their skills as physicians. In other words, because they are so bad at their craft that the only way they can make money is by scamming the gullible.

Well, thank you for acknowledging my intelligence, but that is not why I write long synopses. I do that because there is a lot of information to impart. And while I do not think there is any getting through to conspiracy theorists like you, I know that there are a lot of people out there who appreciate the fact that I take time to share what I know. Taxpayers paid for all of this knowledge to be stuffed into my head; the least I can do is repay the favor.

It's amazing how consistent the picture is when everyone discussing the issue has a clear understanding of the facts. We've all studied different areas of science to get our PhDs; we work in different institutions; we went to different universities; we live in different areas; we read different literature. Yet in describing the science, we are remarkably consistent. Must be because we are not lying. Compare that to the anti-vax scammery, and you see a different story from every anti-vaxxer. It's like they're just random pulling bits out of their backsides. Or in the cases where they are consistent with their narrative, they are consistent to the point of using the same words and punctuation--as if they are copy-pasting each other--which, again, shows that they have little to no understanding of any pertinent science.
