New arts program will connect student artists to PA Turnpike

Well that's cool... will they be chained to the guardrail or anchored to the pavement somehow?

My response to this is probably different than most. High school art? I have reservations about the quality of that art. I would rather see a few high quality projects, or sculpture along the turnpike, than shoddy high school works. Then again, fixing the paved surface, decaying bridges, should be a top priority.

If anything, we need a higher level of critique for most regional and national art projects. And that goes for the NEA as well. At this point, anything with political overtones will be accepted and shown, with much less regard for quality than for the “right” political motivation. Perhaps I should have said “left” political motivation.
