ITHACA, N.Y. The Ithaca City School District and Tompkins County Office of Human Rights have sent out a joint statement reassuring the community that transgender students will be protected in schools.
They issued a statement this week in objection to the decision by the U.S. Departments of Education and Justice to withdraw federal guidelines regarding transgender students in schools.
"Please know that we remain committed to the vigorous support for a students right to be respectfully treated according to their gender identity and to be free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying. We encourage all school districts in Tompkins County to join the effort to ensure transgender kids are safe in our schools and are provided equal access to all programming and facilities consistent with their gender identity," the ICSD and Office of Human Rights joint statement said.

What, all 1-3 of them?
Jesus, what despicable pandering.
Oh, I guarantee you there are a lot more than a few. In Ithaca, you aren't hip unless you've crossed some line or another, whether it's simple stuff like wild hair colors and spikes, more advanced stuff like body modifications (piercings, stretching, cutting, misc hardware), or gone way over the line with operations (addadicktome, chopitoffame).
Heck you can find a dozen trans folks on the Commons just walking one end to the other.
And then there's the Haunt, but we won't go there just now...
The Ithaca City School District need to start a transgender studies program to replace courses in world and American history.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
exactly
It was great, true. I played at the bar when it was in the alley a few times, would have been late 80's I think, with a rock cover band. Only problem was the stage was way at the far end and the sound board was up and to the side (of necessity), so the sonic characteristics were, um, somewhat crude.
But then, so was the crowd. :-). Had a lot of good times there.
I played at the Willow Ave. location years ago, but I don't go there even to listen any more. I think it was after they started hosting "Fetish Night". Talk about a weird crowd.... Whew.
100%... played there in the early 80’s
