Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev denounced Donald Trump In the first direct American raid on Bashar al Assad’s forces, US President authorised the firing of 59 cruise missiles at military airfield

Officials said it was retaliation for Assad’s use of chemical weapons US ambassador to UN: ‘We are prepared to do more but we hope that will not be necessary’

Vladimir Putin has now diverted warship the Admiral Grigorovich to protect the Syrian coast

Syrian aircraft took off from al-Shayrat airfield on Friday in apparent act of defiance

The Kremlin has warned the US it is ‘one step from war' over Syria - but the Trump administration hit back by saying it would be prepared to carry out airstrikes again.

In the first direct American raid on Bashar al Assad’s forces, President Trump authorised the firing of 59 cruise missiles at a military airfield.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev denounced the US for attacking ‘the legitimate government of Syria’ and for allegedly breaking international law without the approval of the UN.

Mr Medvedev said: ‘This military action is a clear indication of the US president’s extreme dependency on the views of the Washington establishment, the one that the new president strongly criticised in his inauguration speech.'

‘Soon after his victory, I noted that everything would depend on how soon Trump’s election promises would be broken by the existing power machine. It took only two and a half months.

’The last remaining election fog has lifted. Instead of an overworked statement about a joint fight against the biggest enemy, ISIS, the Trump administration proved that it will fiercely fight the legitimate Syrian government’.

But the US President warned he would do it again after unleashing a surprise attack on the Syrian regime with a massive show of firepower.

Yeah, Trump has kind of destroyed that “the russians colluded with trump” meme in one swell foop. Heck, even if it is true. :-)

This was not a tactical move. It was strategic, and it sends a powerful message to China and NK.

Our country has many pearl-clutchers and snowflakes...many. Many have never sacrificed anything for America...and they think anyone who does is a chump, a fool or a flyover moron.

Here is the declassified film of from the show Trinity and Beyond of a 15 megaton thermo nuke going off in 1954. It was suppose to be only 6 megatons or twice as big as Hiroshima. For the record Russia is said to have at least 50 megaton nukes.

Going to war with Russia is not “Right Wing’. We want peace through strength and NOT war with Russia.

Intolerable is not an adjective reflecting a psychological state, another word to use in a sternly worded letter. It means that the action described cannot be tolerated, which if true, requires a positive act in response, e.g. bombs and missiles.

The promise to retaliate against any use of any kind of WMD had long been a part of our deterrent posture, until it wasn't.

Now it is again. With a National Security Team of Trump, "fire! fire sabot!" McMaster, and Mad Dog, deterrence means something.

This really is a game for real men and most simply do not have the stomach for it. Heck, I don’t. That is why I will never be rich unless I get some huge inheritance.

But I understand the game being played, and I just pray that it is successful. If I want my baseball team to win, I want a good pitcher. If I really do want my country to be great, I want a true leader and world class decision maker. I think we have one of those now. And to be clear, a true leader is the one that is at the front of the troops as they march into battle, not the one that leads from behind. In many ways, I’m no fan of Trump, but I DO see him as a man with massive leadership skills.

No sane person wants to go to war with Russia. But it's long past due that we take a tough stand against the increasingly aggressive, expansionist nation. Putin's aim is to basically bring back the Soviet Union, and then-some when you include strategic positions in the resource-rich Middle East.

Here is something I’ve had fun with for well over a decade. It’s updated. You can pick any place on google maps, pick your bomb, and nuke it. It gives all sorts of variable options: air burst, ground burst, fallout from prevailing wind, etc.

It lets you know what a nuke would do to the area. One of the most fascinating things it demonstrated to me was just how small the WWII bombs really were. The reason everything was leveled is that it was all made out of wood and paper.

One surgical strike isn’t a war. Thousands of ground troops in Syria can cause alot of problems, If we are going to “rebuild America” a war isn’t going to help.

Without me going into detail about how I know, let me just say that you’d be surprised just how ineffective such a thing would actually be, especially against our military.

It’s mainly a scare tactic.

Plus, my 1960 John Deere tractor would still run fine. :)

Look, dude, Trump said these third world potentates were not our problem and they are not.

He needs to concentrate on repealing obamacare, rolling back taxes and immigration.

Yep.

Those that don’t have the stomach for this sort of thing need to step back and let those that do do their job. Cowering at every threat did us no good the last 8 years. It is not how a country survives. Geopolitics is a game for REAL men. And REAL men take REAL risks - when necessary.

Yep. And what many are missing here is that, as of now, no sane person wants to go to war with the U.S.

I disagree too. You can’t let a chemical weapons attack go unanswered the way Obama did.

“stupid move Trump”

Quite the opposite. Trump let the world know the era of weakness is over.
