TGP also reported yesterday that McMaster is said to be working behind the scenes with Petraeus to put troops on the ground in Syria, a foreign policy decision many are saying is an about face from President Trump’s previous claims of how he would handle the Syrian conflict.

I don't care about an air attack but I don't want to see one more American soldier step onto Middle East ground for a conflict.

It’s a meeting alright. Just not a Security Council meeting.

Looks like Tiddlywinks to me. Mattis, McMasters, Rice all in the same bed with Petraeus.

Rice is still weighing in on OUR national security? Like she "forgot she lost? ......we don't want or need the advice of this loser.

Anything this Obamanerd susan rice says is MOST ASSUREDLY NOT IN THE INTERESTS OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

Trump had better recognize this.

Rice knew Hillary would tap her for Secy of State. She had everything to gain. She did everything possible to advance herself.

Including using the power of the US govt to stop candidate Trump.

Sessions needs to get on her case ASAP. Shut her up once and for all.

How would this guy know if Pompeo briefed Trump on April 6th and what he said? This tweet probably can’t be verified, but it would fit some of the other criticisms that the attack didn’t make sense or the medical personnel were not properly protected to handle sarin gas attack victims.

BTW, thx for identifying all the members of that meeting. Whatever is going on, it helps to know the players.

I notice that McMaster is out of uniform.

Has the Senate not yet passed the waiver that permits him to maintain his service and rank?

Both Flynn and McMaster appear to me to be conniving liars, out to make personal deals to benefit themselves only. Makes sense, these guys connive their way up thru the ranks; they make deals as they go. And when they reach the top, like Petraeus, they shack up with a hot broad and pillow talk about military secrets, among other activities; like lobbying for enemy countries, buddying up with democRAT operatives, etc.

Exactly. Trump got taken to the staffing cleaners by relying on GOPe Priebus and SIL Kushner and by going for the easy praise in the media—always a bad idea.

Flynn reminds me of Ross Perot both in looks and manner.

Ollie North was on TV earlier but I was doing something else. I wonder what thinks about this whole mess.

It’s too conspiratorial to say that a tweet caused McMasters to remove Bannon. I thought this was going to be about KT McFarland.

BTW, best I can tell, the Sec of Treas is actually on the NSC. So I was wrong about that.;-)

Can't find a definitive list of members under the Trump admin tho.

It is not a lie. He was removed. He can be INVITED

Also, Bossert is not allowed to set agenda for meetings involving his own department for meetings with HSC. . He must be INVITED to set the agenda.

McFarland has been booted.

I wouldn’t bet the rent on it, but I’ll speculate that from their facial expressions they may have been viewing images of the victims.
I don’t remember the time frame but maybe the president went from this meeting to the press conference where he appeared to be upset.

Sorry if I sound like Spock, but if that’s true, argumentum ad misericordiam (the fallacy committed when pity or a related emotion such as sympathy or compassion is appealed to for the sake of getting a conclusion accepted) has never been a good basis for government decision making.
Democrats don’t hesitate to bang that drum, milking it for all it’s worth when they don’t have the facts or law, which is often, and we mock them for it.

David Martosko‏Verified account @dmartosko Clarification for my colleagues: Bannon wasn't removed from the NSC, only from the NSC principals committee. He still attends NSC meetings.
