Every politician who is about to get in trouble always says they are says they want to spend more time with their family.
I find this situation troubling, he doesn’t't have to quit to spend more time with his family, just go home, the House won't shut down.
He was asked about it on some Utah radio station this morning, and made this statement:
“My future plans are not yet finalized, but I haven’t ruled out the possibility of leaving early. In the meantime, I still have a job to do, and I have no plans to take my foot off the gas,” Chaffetz said in a statement.
I call BS. All pol candidates are fully aware of time requirements. Probably Mr. or Mrs. screwing around.
“The only two rational explanations.”

“I might depart early,” he told The Salt Lake Tribune early Thursday. “It very well might happen.”

Did he also say he was suffering from dehydration?
If there is more than what he says,it’s likely an undisclosed illness.
I think it might be the second choice...
He just ran for reelection after already knowing what the office entails. And it is a short term. IMO you’ve gotta complete it unless something horrific transpires. If something horrific isn’t made public, it is not unreasonable to speculate that it is Deep State blackmail.
