President Donald Trump will take executive action on Thursday to ease a ban on political activity by churches and other tax-exempt institutions as part of an order on religious liberties, a senior White House official said on Wednesday.

Trump's executive order to mark the National Day of Prayer will also mandate regulatory relief to religious employers that object to contraception, such as Little Sisters of the Poor, the official said in a briefing.

Any kind of ban on what churches do violates the “separation of church and state” ideal that liberals claim to cherish. Of course, there is no such ideal codified in the Constitution, and liberals don’t really value freedom or the Constitution.

Praise the Lord.

Though, happily, our congregation tries to stay out of politics, having some of both parties as members.

I don't think any political activity should be govt's business. I also don't think religious organizations should receive any special treatment from govt, such as tax exemptions, etc.

Thank God! Good to have someone in the White House with respect for religion and God.

When I think how former President Obama mocked Catholics with his blessing of turkeys, I get angry.

Ding Dong, the Wicked President is gone! Sing it High; Sing it Low -- The Wicked President is gone!

That’s just what I was thinking. I don’t think I’m the only person who envisions this being taken advantage of by the Muslims.

This was instituted by LBJ when he was elected Senator.

I guess he was such a scoundrel that he was a target of many preachers in Texas.

LBJ got even when he made it to the US Senate.

Today, in testimony to questions in the Senate, FBI Director Comey mentioned that very “Louis Lerner, I think here name was.”

Exactly right. Leaders of Islam must be glorifying this EO.

I am beginning to think Trump is losing it in a significant way.

What ever was he thinking? Or was he?

In before the concern trolls:

Too little and too late, he's stabbing us in the back, if he really wanted to keep his promises, he could snap his fingers and ignore the RINOs/GOPe/Federal activist judges. This is just smoke and mirrors to divert us from the fact that he's a real do-nothing President.

Hey concern trolls out there - recognize yourself? Two bits of advice for Y'All - start being useful instead of aiding and abetting those who would crush Trump and the People and start donating to FR - many of the "Trump is betraying us" crew seems to not put their money where their mouths are - to them:

Donate to FR

When you hear a lib rant on this tell them:

“I think the Reverend Martin Luther King would be happy to have this 1963 law overturned.. By the way what was happening in 1963 that they thought they had to pass this law?...hmmmm”

The issue is that churches, mosques, etc. are tax exempt. If they are doing the same kinds of things that other organizations that are NOT tax exempt are doing, then the argument is they should not be tax exempt either. Some successful religious organizations have other property besides the place of worship. If they have income producing property, then we need to know how this is treated tax wise.
