Nonsense! At some point in everyone's life a person has a pre-existing condition. Only fools would allow them to start buying health insurance at that point at the same rates as healthy 20-somethings.

The purpose of the fake hysteria over pre-existing conditions is to provide Democrats and the media with lots of sound bites about how the Republicans want everybody to die.

covering pre-existing conditions is simply criminal asset-shifting.

The point if insurance is the gamble by the insurer to cover what has not already happened. If you already have the condition, then you’re dealing from the bottom of the deck. and you are cheating the insurer.

At some point, did the insurance companies have the option to say no, we will not cover preexisting conditions?

They wouldn’t take you. I have degenerative disc disease. When hubby retired my insurance went way up so I was shopping to see if I could save money. They all told me no or gave me pricing way above what we were already paying.
Not much you can do for degenerative disc disease except meds. I take tramadol and meloxicam. Not expensive or a big deal but that didn’t matter.

The idiot Democrats found one of their talking points for the midterm elections and the GOP handed to them. The GOP and this President now own the issue of “healthcare”. It’s not really fair but politics is pure cut throat. The GOP always stinks at responding to word trickery, innuendo, falsehood and downright lies.

There have been so many promises made that all can’t be kept and so many criticisms levied that all can’t be true. The only given is that Trumpcare is going to be every bit the train wreck in its own way that Obamacare was.

Great post to counter fake news.

In addition, states who do get a waiver might make a distinction between pre-existing conditions due to lifestyle choices and those that are no fault of the patient.

So the number impacted might be limited to those who had Obamacare subsidy, skipped paying their share of premium and then drank themselves into a liver problem.
