Macron wants to pass a series of laws by decree in order to speed through reforms and not everyone is happy about it. But can he actually do it?
Macron, Frances soon to be youngest ever president at 39, has major plans for France, including a simplification of Frances labor laws and cuts to the public sector and public spending.
But to bring these plans to action, the president-elect has said he will not wait for the backing of the French parliament which he he is unlikely to get a majority in anyway.
Instead Macron is planning to bypass Parliament and push through some new reforms by decree (par ordonnances in French). [ ]
When facing criticism about ruling by the controversial move before, Macron has argued that its not undemocratic.
Im explaining beforehand, Im telling you, thats democratic, he said.
He also likes to point out that the technique helps speed up the debate.

The real president of France(Merkle) ordered it, so shall it be. Hey frogs, you get what you vote for!
So does the guillotine.
A white, French speaking Barack Obama!
And all these years I have been living with a mis-translation. Cake, well, that’s a hanging offense, but brioche, with cultured butter and good coffee - I could be a contented and passive peasant with that. So this whole French revolution thing - it was a misunderstanding? Sounds like the French.
Another reason to thank God Hillary is not president.
Apparently he thinks he was elected King
It will be quite the show if they decide to. I think they’re overdue.
His cougar wife will call all the shots. The man has no experience at even running a business. He’s a banker married to his former grade school teacher.

Hitler’s first step towards ending democracy was the enabling act which gave him the right to rule by decree for just four years. Four years, I swear, and then I’ll stop.
Why not? It worked for Hussein in a much bigger country.
Only he didn't call them "decrees."
Is that the only recent example you can think of in the U.S.?
Remarkable!
Replace "Macron" with "Trump" and Liberals would be screaming for Trump's execution, much less his impeachment. Liberals are fine with a dictatorship, as long as they run it.

Executive Action in English.
They sound like good ideas, but the french unions and socialists are not going to put up with that. Watch for nationwide strikes if that happens.
You mean “executive action” in Obama English. For me, that man does not get to redefine my language.
JFTR, didn’t want to actually tell you what you mean, so sorry about that. Just meant to describe how that phrase “executive action” comes across to me.
No problem Olog. I knew what you meant.
Unfortunately with all the executive actions, mandates from all the regulatory agencies and the law-making judges you wonder why we even have a congress.
I wouldn’t even refer to his past job as a banker. He was a portfolio-handler for some upper-class customers within the Rothschild Bank. After a couple of years prior at the gov’t audit office, he knew the skills required to hide money.
