As TGP reported earlier, fired FBI Director James Comey told the Senate Intel Committee on Thursday that he asked a friend of his to leak to a memo he kept regarding his conversation with President Trump to the press.
Daniel C. Richman confirmed to the Washington Examiner that he was Comeys friend at Columbia. He has been referred to in the New York Times as a longtime confidant and friend of Mr. Comeys, and his bio at Columbias website lists him as an adviser to FBI Director James B. Comey.

Ping...
A close male friend? How close?
Both Comey and his “friend” ping the gaydar
Interesting.
He looks deranged...
Its always nice to know who your enemies are. It will make it easier to take out the trash when CW2 starts.
I tried three different browsers (firefox, internet explorer, and safari)
and could not see the twitter video.
I get an error message: “The media could not be played”.
Can someone tell me what I am missing?
‘Comey, you have a right to remain silent ...’
When I need to leak memos to the press, of private conversations I’ve had with the President, I always ask my friends to do it for me. Don’t you? Comey can’t possibly have very many true friends since he seems to ask them to commit illegal acts.
The same thing happened to me. I wonder if CNN scrubbed that video because it would be embarrassing to Comey.
I am checking You Tube . . .
Ironic that Trump was trying to get Comey to investigate
White House and intelligence leaks a few months ago and Comey turned him down because he was too busy leaking from the FBI. Very rarely is one successful in getting the fox to investigate leaks in the henhouse.
Thanks!
8 Jun: TheChronicleOfHigherEducation: Columbia U. Professor, Friend of James Comey, Says Hes Welcome to Join Us Next Year
By Steve Kolowich and Andy Thomason
Mr. Richman had previously told The New York Times that Mr. Comey would “be welcomed back” to the university for his next job, and that “he knows it.”
Contacted by The Chronicle on Thursday morning, Mr. Richman elaborated: “He knows hes welcome to join us next year. Hes come to my class several times and is a gifted teacher. Hes also deeply thoughtful about criminal-justice and national-security issues and on ethical leadership.”
(LOL)
Since Mr. Comeys prepared statement to the committee was published, on Wednesday, several observers including those in academe have complimented his writing style. The compliments continued on Thursday, when Sen. James Risch, Republican of Idaho, mentioned his own training in legal writing at law school, and speculated that Mr. Comey must have earned an A in that class....
