McDonald's is getting into the gay pride spirit.
The fast-food franchise is serving its signature fries in cheerful rainbow-colored boxes at participating locations throughout the greater California Bay Area, as well as at some D.C. locations.
"McDonald's has always been a company that has supported diversity and inclusion of its employees and extended McDonald's family," McDonald's spokesperson Kim Knapp said in a statement. "We are proud to create an inclusive culture where everyone feels valued, appreciated and supported.
As an official sponsor of this year's Pride festivities, we looked for a unique way to bring that celebration into our restaurants throughout the Greater Bay Area."
The LGBTQ-friendly fries arrive just as San Francisco prepares for its annual Gay Pride Celebration. Events include a rally and two days of speakers and performers at a Civic Center stage.

Marketing is targeted. Corporations are also scared to death of national backlash of snowflakes because the media loves that garbage. Someone showed me Heineken was all gayed up with some crap on their can in certain markets in Europe. Gay Heineken and Gay McDonald’s would not do well where I am from and NJ is the East Coast version of California. Try that stuff in Africa or South America and good luck. The good thing about Europe is that one can drink a Heineken in a McDonald’s.

I'm also in an Army-base town and I don't think these containers would go over very well here either. If they tried to give me my fries in this container, I would return them and ask for another bag. I'm not bashful about not taking hot fries, and returning those that aren't, so I know I wouldn't have any trouble doing so for a simple container.
