Senate Republican leaders released a healthcare bill Thursday that overhauls Medicaid, scraps most of Obamacare's taxes and alters tax credits available to individuals to purchase health insurance.

The Senate discussion draft unveiled Thursday is the chamber's response to the American Health Care Act, which passed the House last month. Like the House bill, the Senate version guts Obamacare's controversial individual and employer mandates.

Exactly what I want! But I guess, realistically, that’s never going to happen, so we need the best that we can have, and the congresscritters need to be a part of the plan, not sitting on their pedestals with their wonderful private plan!

What WILL happen is that we’ll have the same old crap tomorrow that we do today that we hate and can’t afford.
>

Oh, it’ll be ‘different’ tomorrow. It’ll be the (R) brand of Fascism though.

Unfort., too many seem to believe in the lesser-of-2-evils, when they’ve thrown away their vote (RE)electing the same shills (w/ different labels).

>
I was really hoping this president wouldn’t become tone-deaf like the rest of them.
>

I’m hoping, and it’s early. But the word of the Prez. (knee-pad brigade of “Well, he ran on ‘and REPLACE’”) doesn’t drown out the millions who voted for REPEAL.

We’ll see

And this is the article the NYT wrote about it:

Shifting Dollars From Poor to Rich Is a Key Part of the Senate Health Bill

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/22/upshot/shifting-dollars-from-poor-to-rich-is-a-key-part-of-the-senate-health-bill.html

I did not want to start its own thread, but people need to be aware of it — this is what is presented as news in the NYT — which is still read by too many people.

I guess waiting and seeing is all we as mere taxpayers and people who can’t afford to get sick can do at this point.

They had one job......

“the GOP has declared that RomneyCARE will be here FOREVER.

the US government will, however, keep THEMSELVES EXEMPT
along with THEIR families and THEIR Staff.”

That is the true indicator that what they are pushing onto non-govt folks is a crap sandwich

As long as government interferes, healthcare costs will remain high

“Two aphorisms that are proving true:
One once the American people receive an entitlement it will never be repealed... AND
two The ancient Greek observation that democracy breaks down when voters realize that they can vote themselves benefits at the expense of others.”

Truer words were never spoken.
And it does not matter which party is in charge, both are going to maintain the status quo, because they want those votes.

“.but we do have a 3-part plan *HEAVILY* back-loaded. But, if you’ll trust us over the next 20+yrs, we’ll make it happen”

Yeah, getting majorities in the House & Senate as well as the Presidency really made a difference didn’t it? Just like the Turtle promised...

***it does not matter which party is in charge, both are going to maintain the status quo***

True... until time runs out; we are looking at entitlements that will soon run to $100 tril+      ¿know anyone with that sort of money? For some decades now there have been warnings about Social Security eventually reaching a broken condition. The Democ🐀s have repeatedly said that they have a solution to the problem - although they have never said what that solution is ... The Repubbies have said the subject is the third rail of politics and run away crying wee wee wee all the way home.

Now the time is quickly approaching when the issue will have to be dealt with - and whose solution will take precedence? Obviously not the party that has run away.

So, what is the democ🐀 solution to the burgeoning Social Security problem? Of course: raise taxes to a punitive levels - i.e. Marxist tax levels - take it all . The savior party will cry, 'we can't let old people starve in the streets, do without their meds, etc. etc. etc.' . . . . and they will carry the Republic away - their plan all along for a century!
