Let me on the jury... “Sarah Who?” “No I’ve never heard of her.” “Yes I can be fair and impartial.” :-)
The NYT is probably judgement proof. They *show* more assets than liabilities, but start discounting ‘goodwill’ (remember how that worked out for the S&Ls in the late 80s) and “deferred asset charges”, and the gap narrows. Figure liquidation value of the fixed assets, and there won’t be much left.
Please let this be TRUE!!
Where do I sign for crowdfunding her legal expenses?
ML/NJ
The NYT knew exactly what it was doing, make the assertion, then issue a half-hearted “correction” knowing damn well that only the assertion will be remembered.
Within 30 minutes of the shooting CNN was laying it at Palin’s doorstep, and within an hour just about every talking head on TV was parroting the lie. Then, when Palin responded to their lie, they attacked her for that.
Excellent.
Super! Get the bastards.
I hope she owns them in the end.
However, after 8-years of staring in revulsion at a WH pet gorilla of unknown sex, we've been psychologically rescued by the two beauties: Sarah and Melania.
I’m very, very glad she is doing this. I hope she wins mucho dinero from Sr. Slim, et al.
There was NO EXCUSE for this editorial, none. It most definitely shows recklessness for the truth and/or true malice.
My guess is they will settled and Palin will make a big to-do about giving the money to charity. She should def. give it to O’Keefe’s Project Veritas. Or even better make the Times write the check to him directly.
Oh how that would stick in their craw!
The outcome may depend on where she is filing. If it is in New York state it will likely be heard by a liberal Democrat NY Times reading judge and the jury will be made up primarily of Democrats who hate Republicans.
I am of the opinion that the main reason the MSM gets away with it’s crap is that few if any on the right have the balls to take them to court.
Good for Sarah
YES!!!! Go for it, Sarah, and may the covfefe be with you!!! :0)
Go Sarah!!!! Long time coming!!
These defamation cases cost millions in settlements. Jesse Ventura, for instance, got $1.845 million in damages against the late Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle who said he punched Ventura out in a bar in 2006. First lady Melania Trump filed a $150 million libel suit against a Maryland blogger over a report he published last summer about claims that Trump worked as a "high-end escort." It was reported that she was awarded an undisclosed high amount of money. Burke Ramsey, JonBenéts brother, sues CBS in a $750 million defamation suit. This case, filed in December, 2016, has yet to go to trial.
So, defamation of character can be costly. I say that Sarah Palin should sue the New York Times for at least $150 million.
Go get ‘em, Sarah!
