The Pandora’s Box is going to seem stuck open.
One thing leads to another consequence, and another consequence.

It is pretty magnanimous of the California legislature to force every municipality to write so many tickets which will not be paid.

Will encourage less respect for traffic laws.
Hopefully Trump finds a way to withhold federal highways funds for states that don’t enforce traffic laws.

Finally my son can now get a job to pay his fines off. I mean they already get a shit-ton added to their bill for not being able to pay. Then they take your license away. Stupid!! How you going to get to work then. Not everyone can get a ride, or the bus schedule doesn’t match up. It’s a huge pain in the ass. Then you get depressed because you can’t get on with your life, very discouraging. My son has no problem paying on it when he get’s money, but he has to be able to get money. It’s like the carriage in front of the horse. And they wonder why some people have to sell drugs?

I think its about time for the State Department to issue a Travel Warning for US citizens traveling to California.

Is it wrong to hope that the "Privileged Silicon Valley Types" share in the traffic carnage of their illegal pets???

How about court costs. In Virginia the court costs often exceed the fine.

Uh oh. You’re going against the FReeper group-think exercise. Don your flamesuit.

This law will NOT affect illegals. They’re ALREADY NOT PAYING AND they don’t care about no stinkin’ license anyway

Instead, they will issue warrants, arrest the culprit and then tow his car and sell it at auction. Better that taking their license. /sarc

I seem to remember one jurisdiction in Europe adopted the legal strategy that fines were placed against the vehicle being driven, and the points were against the driver. If the fine went past 60 days (?) a lien would then be put on the vehicle.

Registration was required every year and you could not register a vehicle that had a lien. Also meant you could not sell it unless it was lien free. If you got caught driving a car that was not registered, it was assumed to be stolen.

It is all about illegals.
See end of article: To read the article in Spanish, click here

Excerpt: In March, about 488,000 people had suspended driver’s licenses for unpaid traffic tickets or missing court appearances

When the fines are too big then lower the fines.
Did you know that a $25 cellphone ticket can be over $200 when the Los Angeles courts adds in extra fees. If you are in a nearby county like Ventura but live in Los Angeles county then the fines will go up higher.

I heard just yesterday they were going with if your income was under $30,000 you did not need to pay any fine. Today I do not see that mentioned so that means equal instead of a 2 tier system of laws.
