you’re joking, right...? tortious liability extends to two people falling out of love...? the judicial system of even the most repressive of cultures would burst at the seams if such a common occurrence were litigated...

Type "alienation of affection" into the search box of your favorite search engine, review the results, and get back to us.

nice try...a common law tort abolished by all but six US jurisdictions; hmmm, why do you think is has been abolished as a tortious action by 44 of 50 state jurisdictions...? Please get back to me...

I will agree that I posted hastily, and offer an appropriate apology...

I saw a story about an alienation of affection case in North Carolina back in the 90s on TV. This women sued her ex-husbands new girlfriend for millions of dollars. The show was very sympathetic to the women at first. She kept talking about how in love they were and had been married for twenty years with two kids, she was a stay at home mom, he owned his own business.
Then they interviewed the ex-husband and he said they hadn’t had sex in the last four years of the marriage, that she kept turning him down and he eventually stopped trying. They went back to her and she was like I thought he was so busy with work and I was so busy with the kids. I lost all sympathy for the wife at that time.
I was watching this with my soon to be wife at the time and told her that if even a month goes by without me trying to have sex with her alarm bells should go off.
