European Union Threatens Poland with Sanctions and Suspension of Voting Rights

The European Union has threatened to invoke Article 7, a move which could see Poland lose its voting priveledges in the political bloc and possibly face sanctions over recently proposed judicial reforms.

The European Union announced Wednesday that it would be taking further steps against Poland for what it views as a “systematic threat to the rule of law.” The political bloc has criticised the Polish government’s proposed judicial reform in the past and is now eying a move that could suspend Warsaw’s vote within the union by invoking Article 7, Die Presse reports.

Poland’s ruling party has been pushing the reforms as a mean to tackle what they see as left-wing activist judges, and to introduce “Christian values” into the system.

EU Commission Vice-President Franz Timmermans has been a supporter of invoking Article 7 saying that Poland had “significantly undermined” the independence of the judiciary.

“I am no Nostradamus, I can not make large predictions, but I believe that the Polish people will not support the government when it comes to leaving the EU,” Timmermans argued.

Mr Timmermans also took to Twitter Wednesday afternoon claiming that the vote on Article 7 was close saying, “we are very close to triggering Article 7.”

EU Justice Commissioner Vera Jourova has also slammed the Polish government saying, “I can not imagine that German or Swedish taxpayers want to pay for the establishment of a kind of dictatorship in another EU country,” implying that the halting of EU money to Poland is also on the table.

“The EU is the new USSR.”

In their dreams! How many divisions has the EU?

As when Stalin used to ask, “how many divisions has the Pope?”

Poland has survived invasion by the Nazis and the Soviets, and before that complete obliteration as a nation for over a century.

IMO the Poles aren’t that scared of a bunch of Armani suited Eurocrats in Brussels who can’t even stop the current Muslim invasion (but the Poles can, just watch).

The only real threat the EU has is their beloved Muslim pets.

Poland will be fine.

How Stalinesque of them.

> Eastern Europe needs a third way. That would be Poland, Hungary, eastern Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria (did I leave any still sane country out?) <

The Czech Republic and Slovakia have been showing some nerve lately. The Czechs recently passed a law that is something America’s Second Amendment. And boy, is the E.U. upset over this.

seems to me Brussels and Hamburg are a ‘systemic threat to the rule of law’

Why on earth should a nation allow in people who, over the last 10 years (yes, 10) have proved their intent on raping, sodomizing, throwing acid, and murdering, no, exterminating, the youth of the host nation? It's like being ordered to invite in the Nazis so they can annihilate you, like Italy and France did. Except the Brussels and Hamburg Nazis are using muslims as their footsoldiers these days.

Nothing the EYEEEEWW (EU) can do to Poland will be as bad as letting these animals invade their country and destroy their culture.

I am paying into it more than average German or Swedish cuck. If they steal our money, we will have full right to burn down and plunder the whole damn thing.

EU is an a-hole, but what is happening in Poland isn’t right either. Even the judges from the friendly Czech Republic made a statement heavily denouncing the Polish government’s attempt to make the court system their lapdog. Separation of powers is bigger than election cycles. Poland doesn’t have “an evil” political side. They are all Polish patriots just with different ideas.

That is Breitbart’s twist. Polish politics does not have the “insane lefty” side like America does. Both big parties are Polish patriots there, just with somewhat different priorities and the split is not as it is in the USA. For example the party called “leftist” by Breitbart is actually pro-Business and the current “rightist” is a fair bit too socialist (at least to my liking).

Germany is able to pay their billions into the EU budget because America’s protection (and their overall neglect of military) has allowed them to skim on the defense budget so far.

Poland is spending 2% on military as promised, but Germany’s military spending + their EU net contribution would still fall little short of that.

“They are all Polish patriots just with different ideas.”

Tusk is not a Polish patriot but a German lapdog. Any other head of government would leave that position for being some sort of butler of EU ?

I'm not a huge fan of Kaczynski but generally he is in the same league with Orban and Trump, you can have some doubts about them but then If you look how fiercely they are attacked by the coalition of pathological EUnuchs, commies, homos, globalists, banksters, islamists and basically all scum of the earth, overall they must be good guys. Kaczynski is a dictator about as much as Trump is Putin's man and Orban is anti-semitic. Lies, utter nonsense.

“Kaczynski controls both the government and the president” - shock and horror, in Germany the same woman has been in charge sine 12 years, she is the head of both the government and the main party, she basically elects the president as people there are not even allowed to vote for the president directly, the president is elected by the Bundestag, so by Merkel as the head of main party, additionally (as the media coverage of “Cologne incidents” proved) she basically controls the media. So if Poland under Kaczynski is a dictatorship then Germany is dictatorship ^ n.

All the screams, threats and “concerns” are just offensive weapon against the government that is not in line with the plan of Merkel/Junkers/Macron & co. to trigger of the civil war in Europe (via “refugees” savages) and then as a “solution” turn EU into a federal state.

Here's a good example of double standards, Anne Sanders, Council of Europe:

“How are judges appointed in Germany?

At the Federal level, judges are appointed by a judicial selection Committee. Consisting of members of Parliament and agricultural Ministers, to choose the judges who are then appointed by the Minister of justice. Now you will say — rightly — that the government and the Parliament have so much more influence. This is actually true. In this respect, it is not surprising if the Polish government argues, they do have a Reform, so it is with you, just like in Germany.

What is the difference between the Polish and German judiciary then?

The System in Germany is a long-established, in which Checks and Balances have formed, so that the judges can work independently. In addition, in Germany there is something, what you might call a culture of independence. In Germany, no politician would say that judge as a party-goers to make their judgments in the sense of the majority; at least, such cases are not known.”

http://allinfo.space/2017/07/17/poland-the-disassembled-state-of-law/

So you are not allowed to have the same system as in Germany because you... don't have “a culture of independence” :)))

Personally I'm not sure If it is the best move to “fix” the courts but I know that now they are controlled by no one but themselves and results are terrible.

Regarding economic side of EU... shut id down, get back to borders, tariffs, national currencies and German “export superpower” would disappear overnight. Their input into EU budget is nothing compared to what their business is making out of the whole thing. They benefit from it more than anyone else.
