FBI Takes Destroyed Hard Drives From Wasserman Schultz’s IT Aides

The Daily Caller reported that the FBI has taken the smashed hard drives from the home of Pakistani-born Imran Awan, a former IT aide that worked for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL). The Capitol Police took “computer equipment tied to the Florida lawmaker.”

...Politico previously described as a Capitol Police criminal probe into ‘serious, potentially illegal, violations on the House IT network'” by Awan, his wife Hina Alvi, and his brothers Abid and Jamal.

The veteran discovered “wireless routers, hard drives that look like they tried to destroy, laptops, [and] a lot of brand new expensive toner.”

[snip] Then Imran found out and became angry when he couldn’t get back his equipment:

Simple and obvious technique:

Reformat the drive, then smash it with a hammer, then load it in a hefty bag with old fruit and vegetables and newspapers. Drive 50 miles in a random direction, find a 7-11 and throw your trash in their public dumpster.

Repeat as necessary, one drive at time, driving in a different direction each time.

Honestly, if a “destroyed” hard drive is left around the house, it makes me think it was planted there so that it could be found by the authorities and judged to be “totally harmless”.

Sessions?

Sessions is not FBI director, he’s Attorney General. He can’t do the hiring and firing that needs to be done at the FBI. We’ll have to wait until the newly appointed one is on the job, then I’ll nitpick about what’s going on with the FBI. Until then, Sessions has another job to do.

Three Pakistani ISI agents working as IT techs for Congress.

What could possibly go wrong?

This is VERY likely. Even if the HD serial numbers line up the internal platers can be swapped and viola instead of incriminating evidence you have exonerating evidence.

I implore you to do no such thing; be respectful, say “no comment” if you say anything at all, other than your name, etc., and get a lawyer, please don’t be such a fool!

I was speaking more of my internal attitude about them. Yes sir, no sir and you will have to speak to my lawyer sir would be the extent of my comments.

But the mildly amused expression on my face would be there.

“Sessions is not FBI director, he’s Attorney General.”

True, but the two are linked. After all it was the AG office that recommended Comey’s dismissal. So if the AG was
determined to clean up the FBI it would get cleaned up. Sessions was without a doubt one of our best Senators and I wish he was still there.

Destroyed? Like, with a hammer?

The last dozen or so Had Drives I destroyed all had glass platters, or at least they shatter like glass.

The Daily Caller reported that the FBI has taken the smashed hard drives from the home of Pakistani-born Imran Awan,

Actually there is a rumor on the web that the equipment was not smashed when turned over but is now smashed.

You could drop a dead body on the doorstep of the FBI....

and the agency would detail a janitor to remove the corpse.

AM I CYNICAL?

Good point, the two are linked, but I don’t think Sessions will intrude into FBI business, especially personnel issues, and I think he’s doing the right thing to wait and let the actual FBI director handle it. Once Wray is confirmed, Sessions might have some good recommendations, but I don’t think he’ll take a direct hand in it nor should he. That’s the FBI director’s job.

No. They couldn’t unlock an Apple iphone, so what are they going to do here?
Yeah, it’ll be like zoo chimps and a blowup punching bag with a sand base.

They will either make sure no one competent can crack them or they are planted drives even the Feebs can read that will make Killary look good.
