It’s also true that they want the ability to buy insurance for pre-existing conditions, want insurance companies to be forbidden to cancel policies for non-payment, want zero payment at the point of service, want their adult children who are smoking dope in a dive in Oakland to stay covered, want their States to expand Medicaid without taxes going up, and so on. In other words, the only two things they hate about Obamacare are paying for it, and the name.
Sadly I think you are right on-target there. It will be fun watching the Democrats try to vote against Single Payer so as to avoid giving Trump the "win" on that though.

In a way they are cowards and that way is they are afraid to reveal who they actually are.
The mistake that we are making is assuming that their enemy is the Democrats.
We are the enemy of the GOP. Their allies are the Democrats.
The primary function of the GOP is to swallow the conservative agenda and ensure that it goes nowhere.
Their secondary function is to create the illusion that our votes matter, when they generally do not.
I say “generally”, because this time around our votes did matter, and they are pissed.
