White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci took to Twitter late Wednesday evening to complain about the leaking of his financial disclosures to Politico for a story about his earnings at an investment firm he has an ownership stake in. In that tweet, he seemed to implicate White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus in the leak.
In light of the leak of my financial disclosure info which is a felony. I will be contacting @FBI and the @TheJusticeDept #swamp @Reince45

Obviously, there was a lot of speculation right away that Scaramucci was directly accusing Priebus. Well, that speculation is now over, per The New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza:

You are exactly right. Scaramucci is a liberal and a hired gun. He may get some things done but let’s not sugar-coat the fact that he is a liberal who now thinks he is Mini-me.

I suspect that Scaramucci is a “hired gun” who was put into place by Trump to take out any troublemakers surrounding Trump.
I don’t know that we know that. Were the leaks only from his publicly-available form, or from the non-available form too?
Like his boss, he should not have been tweeting about a transgression if there really is hope of prosecution.
So multiple possible reasons for pulling back. Again, Priebus can be got rid of by Trump with or without cause, and Priebus is widely known to be a disloyal leaker and CoS.
