Trump's attacks could leave him friendless if impeachment comes

President Donald Trump has stepped up his attacks on Republican senators, an approach he may regret if he is someday impeached and the Senate has to weigh charges against him stemming from an investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. election.

More than half of the 11 Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which would be central to any proceeding to remove Trump from office, have tangled with the Republican president, including on Thursday when he fired off early-morning tweets.

Well, that is where the impeachment proceedings are supposed to be conducted. Paragraph number eight still says no storm, of course.

“If Trump were impeached and the republicans didn’t oppose it I think they would lose half or 2/3 of their seats in the next election.”

I think it would be time for them to be fleeing out the back door of the capitol building as patriots stormed the entrance.
If you launch a coup, we get to play too you SOBs.

I think he is in love with a liberal. Have seen that happen several times. Conservatives that fall in love with a liberal start seeing their view more often, agreeing with them more often. Before you know it the Conservative has become a liberal and depending on how radical the love of their life is they can go completely to the dark side. The thing is I have only once seen a liberal become a conservative after falling in love with one. If the conservative doesn’t change the relationship seems to end when it dawns on the liberal partner their mate will not change. Doesn’t end well either.

You don’t sell the steak; you sell the sizzle.

He didn’t go with a pic of President Trump laughing and with a title of “Fat Chance”.

I’ve always bought the steak, and gotten the steak. Smell is more important to me than sizzle. Anyone who buys sizzle must be ill.

Well, Cosmo Kramer liked that motto when he was working. Carried Ritz Crackers in his briefcase.

Seriously, though, in light of other “articles” Drudge has listed, I remain suspicious.

At this same moment, Newsweak’s (on purpose) article is on Yahoo pimping pretty much the same thing.

Gee, what a surprise....

“I would no sooner abandon Drudge, than Trump”

Drudge has shown himself to be a worthless coward. Trump has shown himsellf to be a hero. Big Difference

My take is that Trump is more akin to a Libertarian for life, such as am I.

http://www.libertariansforlife.org/

And as such, he may have few friends on either side of the aisle.

He’s NOT a racist, homophobe, islamophobe, misogynist, etc.

I stopped dashit years ago. Probably too many ads. Can’t remember. Don’t have time to bother with it, although I recall going there in the late 90s, I think.

The citizen president is at odds with the permanent political classes.

Will America ever elect a permanent politician to high office again?

Only if we are stupid.

Impeach on what grounds? I think the Constitution is a better friend of Trump then the GOP Rino’s.

If Trump is anything close to being the tactician that he’s proved himself to be so far, I’m pretty sure he knows who is and who is not on his side, for the most part. If it appears that he’s rubbing elbows with one of them, my guess is they’re about to be dropped like a bag of hot rocks.

He is utterly alone in the middle of the Swamp, and my guess is that we are probably going to have to help him soon. And that’s really only fair considering we made the Swamp.

We made the swamp? Unless you mean the American people kept voting in the same pols decade after decade; I have no idea what you mean by "we made the swamp". We didn't make them corrupt; they did that on their own. Our FR numbers are pretty good but they aren't enough to say "we" voted any particular President in. We helped but not alone.

Also, what do you mean Trump is utterly alone? He has over 60 million of us Americans standing by his side at all times plus he has his close inner circle. Some of those I don't trust, like McMasters, but he has others. Yes; I would like to see more close conservatives with backbone who would be utterly loyal to him but until that happens; he seems to be doing pretty good considering he's fighting the swamp dwellers from the dem and GOPe party's.

McConnell has to go, that's for sure, but so far Ryan's doing what he's supposed to be doing. I put him in the GOPe category but like I said; so far so good. It's the McCain's and Graham's that are the problem. They can only be removed by their respective states and that's hard to do as we found out here in AZ. Looks like Flake will lose next year though so there's some hope. Maybe the brain cancer will take McCain out of action soon. One can hope anyway.

Many of these Republican Senators are not going to be Senators if they don’t wise up and start doing what we elected them for!

And impeached for WHAT?

Haven't you heard? Trump is the reincarnation of Adolf Hitler, and he is planning to send millions of black people to the FEMA death camps.
