President Donald Trump has stepped up his attacks on Republican senators, an approach he may regret if he is someday impeached and the Senate has to weigh charges against him stemming from an investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. election.
More than half of the 11 Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which would be central to any proceeding to remove Trump from office, have tangled with the Republican president, including on Thursday when he fired off early-morning tweets.

The GOP threw Nixon under the bus, in the middle of the Cold War and Vietnam.
We are not going to allow that to happen to Trump.
The Swamp is going to get drained.

While friends are important in life, they should be insignificant in our jobs. We’re to rise above personal relationships and work toward the best result.
Our president and congress are bound by the constitution on this:
***The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office onImpeachment for, and Conviction of,Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.***
Those are the reasons a president can be convicted and removed.
Bad personal relationships with senators is not on that list. Nor are low crimes and misdemeanors. Jaywalking or old parking tickets are not on the list. Nor is talking to foreign gov’ts during a campaign or transition.
A week ago I was certain an attempt to impeach would drive us into the streets in millions. This week I doubt it.
You can see the left’s tactics when they lose a coveted contest like the Presidency or House control.
Besides whining and bitterly refuting reality, they try to be so critical of the one they lost to that either they can’t function or the public grows so tired of the constant complaining that some just associate the annoyance with the subject of the complaint. Either way the left finds some satisfaction by ruining as much of our victory as they can manage.
Bush became synonymous with ineptitude or evil. After record gains in the House Gingrich was pelted with fake charges till one slightly stuck.
I think the left is fairly accurate when they select a conservative opponent they consider too effective not to attack. I think they’ve accurately picked a huge threat to their agendas in President Trump.
That’s what they are counting on.
But, they would be wrong.
Impeachment better not come. If they try that there is a plan in place to step in and put a stop to it. There is a former Navy SEAL named Sawyer who spelled it out a couple of weeks ago.

It’s the McCain’s and Graham’s that are the problem. They can only be removed by their respective states and that’s hard to do as we found out here in AZ. Looks like Flake will lose next year though so there’s some hope. Maybe the brain cancer will take McCain out of action soon. One can hope anyway.”
They all got to go, Boomer. There aren’t some good ones and a handful of bad ones. They are all bad ones. The Swamp has to go.

I think he, like many including myself, believed that the GOP was on his side and believed their lies.
I never thought for one moment that the GOP was on his side, long ago. If I knew it, then I can almost guarantee he knew it.
I dunno, maybe.
It’s possible that he made the same mistake that we all made and believed what they said.

Okay, okay, it’s all good. I just wanted to make sure I understood you. I could have been more tactful but since I rarely get to sleep before 5 am, and not by choice, I too get a bit cranky in the wee hours.

If he gets impeached (possible, as soon as they find that elusive witch with the Russian accent) it will have nothing to do with Russia (or at least anything that actually happened).
if they figure out a way to impeach Trump they will have a serious problem with the some 60 million folks that love & support him . Keyword = serious . If they think these Leftist demonstrations are difficult to deal with , they ain’t seen nothing yet .
