For now, paying the subsidy is good strategy.

It's obvious that Trump will soon stop the payments if nothing is done on ObamaCare so the insurance companies must either withdraw or set their 2018 price assuming they will have to cover all the costs of ObamaCare without government bailouts.

As the article states, ObamaCare is completely dead without the bailout fund due to the astronomical price increase on already unaffordable premiums

So Trump forces Americans to face up to the true costs of the Obamacare without having to take the direct blame for imploding ObamaCare

If Trump stops paying Congress will just pass a law funding it and making the payments legal. No good option here. The beltway sewer is totally out of control.
