The thought never occurred to me at 17. When I tried the navy again 17 years later they said I was too old. I guess I could have sued under ADA and for age discrimination. Who knew?
Yes, but it really doesn't mean they won't be successful.
Medical issues have always been a justifiable cause for rejection.

I had disclosed and was afflicted by “seasonal allergic rhinitis” (hay fever) which had to be reviewed and waived by a military medical board before my commissioning physical was complete. Still am, though the medications have improved over the years. How times have changed . . . and, not necessarily for the better (or more sane).
There are plenty of people who may want to serve but they do not have a right to do so
My dear husband sold all of his worldly goods and enlisted to fight in Vietnam with his best friend.... after the physical they told my husband he had orthostatic albumineria (spelling approx) and would not take him...they took his friend..... has taken years to heal this buddy relationship.....
NO...the military does NOT have to take you, nor remunerate you for your loss in liquidating your assets or even give you a bus ticket to home or anywhere.
This is a funny story now, but is the stark reality of military standards.
Funny... my husband found his Dad late in life and his Dad was a WWII hero... we have his Dad’s story, medals diaries, flight logs.... he was shot down and taken as prisoner of war by Nazi forces...escaped and fought with the free French underground before reuniting with American forces. I always wondered if his Dad had the same health condition, but the Military could not diagnose it back then.

The military does not exist to give people jobs or make their dreams come true.
It exists to kill people and break things.
They turned me down after 9-11 because they said I was to old, I challenged the recruiter to a one on one PFT.
He wouldn’t go for it.
I was in pretty damn good shape for what he called an old fart.
My wife about had a heart attack when she found out I tried to re-enlist.

The Left does not care, and has not cared, since the 1960s. The Radicals, who are now in their 60s and 70s (which means that they are in office, and part of the heaviest voting bloc) only care about dismantling America, every day, every institution, by every means possible. This is just another step. Half do not even care about power... although they'd be happy to have it to use to destroy America... the ruin of our culture, history, and greatness is what they crave most, and have craved it and worked for it for over 50 years.
I wonder if they would be so willing to serve if the military said no to hormone therapy and sex change surgery.
