There is a poster commenting on the YouTube video claiming to be the passenger who says the car’s brakes went out as the driver was turning on a road on the other side of the pond/woods and that the driver steered into the woods to avoid hitting a security guard.
That puts the puzzle as to why the car seemed to be parked momentarily — too long without someone going over to find out what the situation was.
I see a road there. Plausible. But brakes going out?
That would be an amazing coincidence.
When they came to the Air National Guard base I worked at in Des Moines when VP Bush was running for president everything had seals on it. And they’d weld things shut. He was there constantly so it was an ongoing thing. As a security officer I’d even dispatch cars to the Secret Service from their own on-base motorpool.
No word of an arrest yet. The incident was not publicized by law enforcement. Were it not for the video we might not know about this.
He’ll have to write his apology “I will not try to ram...” 1000 times.
I think it could be true. It would be easy enough to inspect the brakes and check their story.
But these weird things happen for reason, I believe.

But nevertheless, quite lame as a ram attempt.
2-3 characters with RPG launchers could create havoc from that wooded area.

Very weird, almost strange enough to be true. I did not see stores over there in the satellite image. Bizarre all the way around. Extremely curious that it would happen at the same time motorcade was passing. What are the odds?
Yup. I just sleuthed it myself. Note the motorcade was westbound, toward the airport.
I was stumped until I saw local news which showed a CATT sign along Kearny. Looked it up and got the address!

I drive that street (Kearny) a couple of times per week.
Only thing I can suggest is that she turned left from the Bass entrance, missed Kearney and drove down the concrete drainage ditch, about 400 feet, and encountered water coming from a feeder there. Realized her mistake ( sort of! ) and tried to climb out of the ditch onto Kearney.

The car was in the concrete overflow channel for the pond behind the trees, you can see that it comes out right where the water does, look for the discoloration on the Google Maps view as well as the YouTube video, the car comes out right there. There’s no way that car got there due to brake failure. Depending upon just how deep the sides of the channel are, it may have hidden the car from view, particularly sitting back inside the treeline.
