Take a breath - arbitrarily starting a war which will kill millions would be stupid and Kim would win w/o ever having done more than bluster and kick sand.

Well we don’t know what Trump and company are doing because they actually are not broadcasting it.

Thank you! Finally someone has taken the blame for NK back to Bill Clinton and. Madeleine Albright and their lie that NK would use the nuclear reactors for “energy”. A pox on the Clintons!

Underground test. No EMP. EMP weapons would be detonated in space high above the target.

There are no good options left.

China’s cat’s paw has gotten to the point we can’t do anything without a nuclear exchange.

Question to all: Do we know if they can reach the continental USA yet?>>>>>>

My understanding is that they can reach the USA but not with any degree of accuracy, but what’s plus of minus 500 miles with an H bomb?

Lankov:
Regime collapse is likely to result in massive turmoil, followed by either the establishment of a pro-Chinese puppet regime (seen by the North Korean elite as the preferable option) or the absorption of North Korea by the South Korean state.

The second option, which currently appears to be significantly more plausible, will be a disaster for everybody who is somebody in North Korea nowadays. These people will have little, if any, chance of staying in power.

Objectively, they have no chance of competing with the South Korean carpetbaggers, even if they are given somewhat privileged treatment in the post-unification country (an unlikely scenario). The loyal soldiers of the Kim family simply know too little about how the modern world and economy operates.

At the end of the day, all this means that, compared to the elites in other countries in similar situations, the North Korean elite is likely to remain remarkably loyal to the current government – no matter what. They do not want to rock a boat they cannot leave themselves. A coup, even a successful coup, has a high chance of provoking instability which would quickly result in regime collapse and the absorption of the poor North by the rich South.

Many here lack the intellectual ability to do any thing but bitch and moan about what ever petty thought they have at the moment.

Lacking power and being too lazy to go in the streets to actually demonstrate their opinion, they come here and whine.

I love Trump but he doesn’t seem to have the balls this time.

You're dead wrong, friend. Trump has more balls than the last four presidents combined.

I won't soon forget what you just said.

should have nuked them a month ago. but noooooo

The NK problem has been kicked down the road by every president since Truman. Truman should have allowed MacArthur to roll all the way to the Chinese border. Instead we've had 66 years of the world and our presidents both ignoring the problem and appeasing the NK's. Now the problem is a nuclear one and President Trump has to deal with it at the same time almost everyone in the DC swamp is against him.

In your dreams. I thought we finally elected someone who had the balls to take care of this problem.

I love Trump but he doesn’t seem to have the balls this time.

Personally, I think prudence is way more important then Trump showing his cajoles...

It's an international problem Trump or the US cannot solve alone.

That fat little madman will fall in due time...

How about we have patience not to start a nuclear war first.

"I love Trump but he doesn’t seem to have the balls this time." I agree, Trump is not the man for this job. In fact I think there is only one man who can get us out of this crisis. A man who can save millions of lives, our nation, and perhaps the world itself. That man is often derided and mocked on this site, a black man, whose intellect and forward thinking towers above others and is known and admired in every country. A man of humble beginnings who has faced adversity and has rebounded to greatness. One man to save us all.

Bad stuff if true. We can lay the blame for this on BJ Clinton; hell, we can arguably run it back to Truman. Trump was dealt a bad hand, but I trust him to do the right thing.

Trump is damned either way he goes.

All it takes is any human killed from NK aggression with a nuke and our President will act decisively. Trump will lose no sleep over obliterating China’s puppet.

It is just ME or does Yahoo’s headline:

North Korea says conducts hydrogen bomb test, Trump calls it a “rogue nation”

make it sound like Trump is in the wrong here, not North Korea?

Yes...they could. If NK intelligence were to place a device onto a container ship flagged by “whatever” country, crossed the sea and entered a port somewhere in our country....Can't check’em all.

China upping the price of its cheap junk will raise more competitors though. So it’s a pinch.
