Limbaugh to evacuate after calling Irma climate change ploy

By Joe Concha - 09/08/17 11:04 AM EDT

Rush Limbaugh will be evacuating his home in Palm Beach, Fla. just days after stating that creating panic around hurricanes helps advance an agenda around climate change.

“May as well announce this. I’m not going to get into details because of the security nature of things, but it turns out that we will not be able to do the program here tomorrow,” Limbaugh said on his nationally-syndicated radio program on Thursday. “We’ll be on the air next week, folks, from parts unknown.”

Conservative political commentator and author Mark Steyn will fill in for Limbaugh of Friday.

Controversy swirled around Limbaugh throughout the week after 66-year-old said while he's "not a meteorologist," and nothing he says "should be considered to be a forecast or a prediction," he believes that hurricanes are often hyped to help drive ratings on the media side while driving sales for retailers who offer storm supplies.

"There is a desire to advance this climate change agenda, and hurricanes are one of the fastest and best ways to do it. You can accomplish a lot just by creating fear and panic," Limbaugh said Tuesday. "You don’t need a hurricane to hit anywhere. All you need is to create the fear and panic accompanied by talk that climate change is causing hurricanes to become more frequent and bigger and more dangerous, and you create the panic, and it’s mission accomplished, agenda advanced."

Remember Alinsky: “Never let a crisis go to waste.”

Rush obviously wasn’t denying the existence of the hurricanes, just noting that their presence is being predictably leveraged into agenda-facilitating hysteria.

Yep. And you said it a whole lot more concisely than I did.

Well done.

Yeah, it's all caused by a shadow. The Dark Ages II.

Do not be a smart butt. Tides were affected. Temperatures in the, water and in the air above the waters vary due to waters not being where they normally would be. There is an instability.

Did you know that women of child bearing age, due to the changes in the moon, spotted during the eclipse?

We have had tides every single day for the last few billion years.

Of course, but the moon effects the tides. Oh, never mind...

You do know the moon affects the tides, right? You do know that the last eclipse added a second high tide (spring) in the month, right?

Am I the only one who has a problem with ‘mandatory evacuations’ under any circumstances?

no...

They are just stupid. Didn’t listen to a minute of the show.
Listening to his show - or reading the transcript of it - would not be helpful, since all you would accomplish would be to learn that you actually don’t have a point.

Hurricanes are Karmen street vortices which are a natural consequence of living on an enormous ball of spinning rock covered with volatile liquid and gas hurtling through space in close proximity to an even more enormous ball of fusing hydrogen that differentially heats the side of the planet closest to it which is constantly changing, coupled with the law of conservation of angular momentum. The largest hurricane in the solar system, many times larger than the entire earth, has existed on Jupiter for centuries and whose myriad of moons might as well be flies circling a Cadillac Escalade. Gravitationally induced tides, of which we get two per day, certainly exacerbate the storm surge if timed right, but they don’t cause hurricanes, the sun does.

No, it makes perfect sense. It gives the authorities the right to say (and it's already been said by the way) "we're not going to put our people in harms way just to save you because you were too stupid to get your butt out of Dodge"......

Well each day there are folks lying about Trump too. Rush is in great company.

I listed to Rush, and all he was saying was that the Left keeps embellishing these calamities to advance their global warming stance.

He’s exactly right.

We haven’t had any hurricanes in 10-12 years, and yet now these few hurricanes are proof positive that global warming is causing all this.

So what was causing the 10-12 year absence of hurricanes?

The Left and the media are spinning and using propaganda as much as they can, and it isn’t going to work.

They’re frauds and everyone knows it.

My guess is that The Hill titled the article.

Titles / headlines are most likely written by someone other than the writer of the article.

I do online surveys for extra money. In the past 10 days, I’ve answered FOUR of them asking “you’re a Texas resident, don’t you think this hurricane is due to climate change?”

Interesting listing of hurricanes since 1851.
2005 leads with 28 named storms and 15 hurricanes.
