Most Voters Welcome Trump’s Outreach to Congressional Democrats
Rasmussen ^ | September 13th, 2017 | Unattributed

Posted on 09/13/2017 8:40:18 AM PDT by Mariner

Despite their failure to advance President Trump’s agenda, congressional Republicans aren’t happy about his outreach to Democrats in the House and Senate, but most voters think it’s a great idea.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 66% of Likely U.S. Voters say it is good for the country if Trump works with congressional Democrats to advance his agenda. Just 13% think the bipartisan cooperation is bad for the country, while 21% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Only 19% believe the president should continue to rely on congressional Republicans to pass his agenda. That’s down from 29% in early April. Sixty-five percent (65%) now feel he should reach out more to Democrats in Congress for help versus 58% who felt that way five months ago. Sixteen percent (16%) are not sure.

Republicans (72%) are even more enthusiastic about the president working with congressional Democrats than Democrats (62%) and voters not affiliated with either major party (63%) are.

Except your data is a forgery, constructed in your own mind.

Fewer Dims are supportive than Reps.

The Rats are going to claim they are Trump’s allies now. I very much suspect that Trump’s ego prevents him from understanding the fact that much of his “support” is
really not that, so much as LOATHING for all things on the left, including their cheerleaders. That’s where I stand. If I see him getting into bed with those assholes, I’m out of his camp because I firmly believe that everything the left supports is bad for America.

Well said and I should have added a (/sarcastic) tag to my comment. The word conservative has become meaningless, and those who stand as “true” conservatives are, to me at least, among the worst political whores working the corner.

Are you a partisan Republican?

A party official perhaps?

Right, Trump’s ego prevents him from understanding the fact that much of his “support” is really not that, so much as LOATHING for all things on the left, including their cheerleaders, the old media empire and the DNC.

I think making deals with the devil are bad deals. These deals are made with the party of Barack Hussein, the mad muslim pig that crapped on the country for 8 long years with Piglousy and Schumer his chieftains.

Based on the past 9 months we know what Trump will get working with Congressional Republicans: NOTHING. No obamacare repeal, no wall, no significant tax cuts, etc. The GOP owns it all.

The idea sounds great in principle. But in practice, Democrats are now marching in lock step to a hard left agenda and any initiative involving democrat votes would almost certainly be bad for the country.””

And that is exactly why you don’t make deals with organized crime.

You are so right. President Trump was elected as a political outsider. He also has real talents as a business manager, something you want in a chief executive officer.

The biggest GOPe and dimorat complaint against him is that his decisions aren't politically based. And, he is keeping his campaign promises.

LOL. Trump’s ego is microscopic compared to the beltway pigs who think they have been divinely appointed to rule us. The biggest clue to their vanity is how much the”Drain the Swamp” slogan drives them nuts. They are vain egomaniacs without a doubt.

True enough.

So here we are, stranded in Death Valley. You have before you two glasses. One is empty. The other contains water ... with hydrogen cyanide dissolved in it. Drink up ... 'cause you're gettin' nothing from that other glass.

The GOP party is failing us. We can no longer give our favorite pet Congressional conservatives on the GOP plantation a pass. They are ALL responsible for not funding the wall, etc. If the party fails us, THEY fail us.

I agree. In addition, a large part of his "support" are those who are not happy with the GOPe and their refusal to actually work for We The People, now that they are in charge!

Can we only imagine if Barark Hussein had done the same?

Can you imagine large numbers of Congressional Democrats not supporting Obamacare or his stimulus bills in 2008? I can’t. Yet the GOP refuses to support its own party platform from less than a year ago. How pathetic is that?
