Today as I traveled NB on I-285 near Atlanta I saw convoys of power crews heading south. They probably finished their work in GA and now headed to Florida.

One million people in GA lost their power. Some just getting power back this weekend.

In my local area, we still have around 100,000 without electricity. Temp climbed to 97ºF today.

I think it was more like 1.5 million or more. I have a screen shot of the GA Power outage map from around 10PM on Monday 9/11. It shows 897,486 *customers* down. Most are residences, and most have more than one occupant.

GA Power is currently showing only 38 outages and 113 customers without power. Their outage map is pretty slick:

Now, they aren’t 100% of electricity suppliers in GA, but they serve the vast majority of the state.

Anyone in the Atlanta area know if Mableton was hit by power outages and or wind damages?
